After getting a first look at teams across the NFL last week, fans will be focused on any signs of progression in NFL Preseason Week 2.
Teams are tinkering with their lineups and easing some of the superstar players back into the fold before the regular season gets underway on Thursday, September 5, when Kansas City Chiefs host Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium.
Here’s a look at the schedule for Week 2 in preseason and three selections to consider for the action ahead.
With three wins in their last three visits to Gillette Stadium, the home of the New England Patriots has been a happy hunting ground of late for Philadelphia Eagles.
Longing for the glory days of the Tom Brady and Bill Belichick era, the Pats are still looking to get back to those dizzying heights.
That sort of success looks to be some way off after New England finished rock-bottom of the AFC East last season with just four wins and 13 losses to their name.
The Pats will be eager to learn from that tough campaign and there are early signs of better things to come, having beaten Carolina Panthers 17-3 at Gillette Stadium last week in their first preseason outing, and the Pats' third-overall draft pick Drake Maye completed a few passes.
However, the Eagles can bring the Pats right back down to earth on Thursday night and continue their impressive recent record in Foxborough.
The Eagles - who rested their starters - raised a few eyebrows to win 16-13 at M&T Bank Stadium against the Ravens last week and can build on that road win when they head to Massachusetts.
The Detroit Lions were one of the surprise packages of last season and they get a chance to test themselves against the reigning champions in the form of the Chiefs on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium.
Detroit had few starters out last week in their 14-3 defeat to the New York Giants and will be looking for an improved performance this weekend.
The Lions only have to look back at their last visit to Arrowhead for inspiration, as they managed a memorable 21-20 win last season.
Kansas City will also be looking for improvements from last week, as they suffered a 26-13 defeat at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The reigning champions won’t risk their superstar players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce for too many plays at this stage of preseason and it looks like the Lions could come away from Arrowhead with another scalp this weekend.
The highest scorers in Week 1 of preseason, there was plenty to like about the Denver Broncos offense as they prepare to host Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.
Denver put 34 points past Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium and racked up 410 total yards on offense.
Quarterback Bo Nix impressed for the Broncos, throwing one touchdown on a positive day for the rookie in Indianapolis.
Back at Mile High, Nix will be hoping for another strong display against a Packers team that beat the Cleveland Browns 23-10 on the road.
The Packers are likely to use QB Jordan Love sparingly and the Broncos can capitalize on that this weekend.
Green Bay have lost on their last two visits to Mile High and the Broncos look good value to cover the spread considering the effectiveness on offense against the Colts.
