Sunday Night Football in Week 12 features two teams who have won the NFC in the last three seasons, as the Los Angeles Rams host the Philadelphia Eagles at SoFi Stadium in California.
The Eagles appear more likely to make a deep playoff run this time around, with their 26-18 win over the Washington Commanders in their last game keeping them on top of the NFC East at 8-2.
That was Philly's sixth successive win and they head to California in good spirits, with running back Saquon Barkley having proven a fantastic offseason addition.
The Rams are 5-5 but are still very much in the hunt to win the NFC West, which is the NFL's most competitive division this season, with three .500 teams just one win behind current leaders, Arizona Cardinals.
The Eagles won 23-14 when the teams met in Inglewood last season and have won seven of the teams' last eight encounters overall.
The Rams are a solid team with one of the most dangerous receiving duos in the league in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua and they should continue to challenge for a place in the NFC playoffs now a spate of key injuries is behind them.
However, the Eagles have good value on the spread giving up just a field goal as they bid to extend their winning run to seven games.
Nick Sirianni's team has not been dominant in every outing, but the Eagles have the top-ranked defense in the league, giving up just 273.1 yards per game.
They rank second in pass defense, behind only the Titans, so they have a much better chance than most teams of making life tough for Rams QB Matthew Stafford and his elite receivers.
The Rams have won four of their last five games, but their Week 10 home loss was to a Dolphins team which, like the Eagles, boasts a talented offense. Last week, they did not have an entirely comfortable game against the 3-8 New England Patriots, but managed to win 28-22 despite gaining only 19 first downs to the Pats' 26.
This is a much tougher test for Sean McVay's team, who have covered the spread in only two of their five home games, while the Eagles are 4-1 against the spread on the road.
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is not known for huge passing numbers, but he looks capable of going over a modest passing yards line for Sunday night's game.
Hurts averages just above that number at 219.7 yards per game, but has gone over it in three of his last four games with totals of 236, 230 and 221 yards against the Bengals, Jaguars and Commanders.
He came up short with just 202 in the blowout win over the Cowboys when there was no need for him to put up big numbers or take risks, but this game should be more competitive.
The Rams' defense lies a mediocre 22nd in the NFL pass defense rankings, allowing an average of 223.3 per outing. Plus, their secondary has taken some injury blows with cornerback Derion Kendrick and safety John Johnson III out for the season, while cornerback Cobie Durant has been limited in practice this week with a thigh issue.
The Eagles have the players to guard Rams receivers Kupp and Nacua better than most teams, so McVay may need to get creative when his team reaches the red zone and wide receiver Demarcus Robinson is a player he tends to turn to.
Robinson is the team's leading touchdown scorer at wide receiver this season, having spent time as a starter when Kupp and Nacua were injured.
However, he has not been forgotten since their returns and he scored two touchdowns in each of the recent games against the Vikings and Seahawks when all three were active.
