The Detroit Lions earned an emphatic 52-6 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11, and Dan Campbell's team is now favored to win the NFL Championship.
The Lions are +400, while the Kansas City Chiefs moved to +425 due to their 30-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs had been outright favorites entering the season and held onto that status as they started the season 9-0, but they fell back in the market after falling to 9-1.
Detroit is also 9-1. Their one loss was a 20-16 defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2.
Detroit Lions | +400 |
Kansas City Chiefs | +425 |
Buffalo Bills | +650 |
Baltimore Ravens | +750 |
Philadelphia Eagles | +750 |
San Francisco 49ers | +1200 |
The Lions currently rank first in points scored (336 total, 33.6 per game) and fifth in points allowed (177 total, 17.7 per game). They've allowed the fewest passing touchdowns (seven), have the second-most interceptions (14) and score the fourth-most points per drive (2.68) in the league.
Under offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, quarterback Jared Goff has completed 73.0 percent of his passes for 2,492 yards and a 20-9 TD-INT ratio this season. His 9.2 yards per pass attempt leads the NFL, and so do his three fourth-quarter comebacks this season.
Detroit's offense arguably is even more well-rounded than it was last season, when it became the first team since the 2013 Denver Broncos to have four players to score 10 TDs in a single season.
RBs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery have nine and 10 TDs respectively, and pass catchers Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Sam LaPorta have nine, four and three scores respectively.
Defensively, three players have multiple interceptions. Kerby Joseph has seven and Brian Branch has four, and the two are looking like an All-Pro safety duo with 22 passes defended between them. Cornerback Carlton Davis has also chipped in with two picks, 10 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries.
With five wins by more than one score, Detroit has dominated its opponents at times this season, most notably in the 47-9 Week 6 win over the Dallas Cowboys and the recent 52-6 Week 11 win over Jacksonville.
Can anyone put a stop to their momentum between now and February's big game in New Orleans?
