New York Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The New York Jets will take on the Minnesota Vikings in the first London game of the 2024 season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday morning.

The Vikings are the only unbeaten team in the NFC after reaching 4-0 with an impressive NFC North win over rivals the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

They are also looking to extend a perfect record in the English capital, where they have won on their three previous visits in 2013, 2017 and 2022.

The Jets are hoping to bounce back after losing 10-9 to the Denver Broncos on Sunday to fall to 2-2 on the season. The New York franchise has made two previous trips to London, beating the Miami Dolphins at Wembley Stadium in 2015 but losing to the Atlanta Falcons at the venue for Sunday's game in 2021.

New York Jets vs. Minnesota Vikings betting picks and predictions

Under 40.5 total points (-110)

Only one of the last four NFL games played in London has produced more than 40 points and the defenses could dominate again at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Both teams have some top-level offensive talent, with Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold able to seek out elite receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison while Aaron Jones powers their running game.

For the Jets, QB Aaron Rodgers is bidding to make his mark this year after an injury-hit 2023, aided by young talents Garrett Wilson at wide receiver and running back Breece Hall.

However, both franchises also possess impressive defenses, with the teams ranking fourth and fifth in the league in points allowed per game as the Jets have allowed only 62 points in four games, while the Vikings have given up just 59.

Minnesota has held the Giants and Texans to single-digit scores and the 49ers' powerhouse offense to 17 points, while last week the Vikings beat the Packers 31-29 but were leading 28-7 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Jets have allowed just 30 points in their last three outings, beating the Titans 24-17 and the Patriots 24-3 before their one-point loss to the Broncos in a real defensive struggle at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, when they limited the visitors to just 186 total yards.

Broncos QB Bo Nix had only 60 passing yards in that game and while Darnold should be capable of doing much better than that, he is facing a defense that has a right to be confident.

The weather forecast is for a dull and potentially rainy day in London, which won't help the offensive players, and the international audience may have to appreciate some solid defense in this game rather than cheer the teams while they score a ton of points.

Tyler Conklin Over 23.5 receiving yards (-110)

Some of the most exciting offensive players in the NFL will be jetting to England for the first of three successive weeks of London games.

Jets tight end Tyler Conklin does not necessarily fit that description but he is capable of making his mark on the box score in Tottenham by having a solid game.

Conklin's receiving yards line of 23.5 should be exceeded after the increase in his targets from QB Aaron Rodgers in the last two Jets games.

The tight end will be playing against his former team, which often provides a little extra incentive to impress, and he had a huge game against the Patriots in Week 3, catching five of his six targets for 93 receiving yards.

He was able to catch half of his targets in the defensive battle against the Broncos, with four receptions for 17 yards, but his eight targets was the joint-most of anyone on the team along with wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Allen Lazard.

He should figure prominently in the game plan again, and the Vikings have shown some vulnerability to tight ends.

Packers TEs Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave combined for 66 yards and a touchdown on nine catches against Minnesota on Sunday and Conklin should be expected to reach at least 24.
