Sunday Night Football in Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season brings a crucial game in the NFC playoff race as the Seattle Seahawks host the Green Bay Packers at Lumen Field.

Both teams have been playing well recently, with the Seahawks winning four straight games including a sweep of their NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals to reach 8-5.

There's no time to relax, though, with the 8-6 Los Angeles Rams right behind them. Whichever team in that division doesn't finish on top will be on the fringes of qualifying as a Wild Card team.

The Packers have won seven of their last nine games to stand at 9-4, with their only losses in that time coming to current NFC favorites the Detroit Lions. Matt LaFleur's team came close to grabbing a huge win at Ford Field in Week 14, leading in the fourth quarter before losing 34-31 on a field goal as time expired.

They are only third in the NFC North division behind the 12-1 Lions and 11-2 Minnesota Vikings, but are on course to make the playoffs even if they don't catch the leading pair.

The Packers have won five of the last six meetings with the Seahawks, including a 28-23 playoff win in 2020 and a 17-0 success at Lambeau Field in the most recent encounter in 2021.

The Packers have been operating at a high level this season despite sitting in third place in their division, and they have been performing almost as well on the road as they have at home.

The Wisconsin-based team is 5-2 at home and 4-2 away from Lambeau Field, with their road losses coming by three points in Detroit and by five in their opener against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil.

They have beaten the Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears on their travels and the extra distance for this game is offset by the additional rest they enjoyed after playing on Thursday night in Week 14.

The Packers impressed in their homestand wins over the San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins prior to their Detroit trip and, unlike many visitors to Lumen Field, they will be well used to dealing with any inclement conditions they are presented with.

Running back Josh Jacobs has flourished since joining the Packers from the Raiders with 1,053 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns and quarterback Jordan Love is being protected well, taking only 11 sacks in his 11 appearances.

The Seahawks have recovered well since losing five of six games in the middle of the season but they don't really have a statement win on their record yet. Their 20-17 victory over the fading 49ers looks less impressive now than it did at the time.

Head coach Mike Macdonald seems to have found the key to improving his defense, which took time to come together after he arrived from Baltimore, but his offensive preparations have been disrupted by injuries to some key performers. 

Wide receiver DK Metcalf appears on track to play despite a shoulder issue but running back Kenneth Walker III may sit again with a calf problem.

The Packers are favored on the road and that looks the right move by the oddsmakers.

Tucker Kraft Over 33.5 receiving yards (-110)

Tight end Tucker Kraft has made a big impression in his second NFL season and the powerful pass-catcher is averaging 40.1 receiving yards per game.

He has also been a favored target for QB Jordan Love in the red zone and has snagged seven touchdown catches, the most of any player on the team.

His receiving yards line of just 33.5 looks very achievable against a Seahawks defense that gave up 133 and 70 yards to Cardinals tight end Trey McBride in their two recent meetings.

Zach Charbonnet - Seattle Seahawks first touchdown scorer (+200)

The Seahawks were able to get by without Walker against the Cardinals last week thanks to another dynamic performance from Zach Charbonnet, who relished his chance to start and racked up 134 rushing yards with two touchdowns.

He had not recorded more than seven carries in any of his previous nine games but showcased an impressive burst of speed and will be a threat to the Packers whether or not Walker is able to suit up. 

He looks worth backing at +200 odds to be the first Seahawks TD scorer having reached the end zone eight times this season despite playing in mainly a back-up role.
