Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

A huge NFC North clash takes place at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on Sunday, when the Green Bay Packers visit the Minnesota Vikings in the penultimate week of the regular season.

The NFC North has proven to be the strongest division in the NFL this season, with the Detroit Lions and the Vikings both boasting 13-2 records to sit first and second respectively.

Green Bay is just behind in third on 11-4, leaving the Packers guaranteed of a wildcard spot and the two sides above them assured of a place in the playoffs.

With Minnesota still holding hopes of finishing top of the NFC North pile, a victory at home to Green Bay is a must and the hosts will be hoping star quarterback Sam Darnold can steer them to a ninth successive win.

Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings betting picks and predictions

Minnesota Vikings to win (-105)

Minnesota has put together a nice run as of late, with last week's 27-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks extending their winning streak to eight games.

That is the longest current winning streak of any team right now and the Vikings continue to defy expectations, with many having thought that QB Darnold would begin to feel the pressure.

But the 27-year-old keeps delivering every time he gets onto the field and he was superb in the win over the Seahawks, throwing for 246 yards and three touchdowns, taking his TD tally for the season to 32.

Darnold will be tested against a Green Bay defense that has limited their opponents to under 20 points in five of their last six games, including a shutout of the New Orleans Saints last time out.

The Packers' pass rush has impressed, as they have made 43 sacks, and they will like their chances of sending Darnold down to the turf.

But Darnold is used to getting sacked, as he has taken three or more in four of the last five games, and he won't be put off by this aggressive Green Bay defense.

While the Packers have been strong on the road, boasting a 5-2 record, Minnesota have been even better at home and are 7-1 at the U.S. Bank Stadium, beating the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers.

With first place in the NFC North still a possibility for the Vikings, they can extend their winning streak to nine and put the pressure on Detroit, who round off the Week 17 action against San Francisco.

Under 48.5 Total Points (-110)

Both of these teams are coming off stellar performances heading into this clash and while Minnesota has been putting up strong offensive numbers of late - posting 27 points or more in four of their last five games - going for Under 48.5 on the total looks to be the way to go here.

The Vikings have been great with the ball, with Darnold leading them superbly, but they come up against a Green Bay defense that has really started to click into gear of late.

Giving up 20 points or less in five of their last six contests, the Packers have been making life tough for their opponents, and the Saints will testify to that after they failed to get on the scoreboard last time out.

Green Bay are giving up 19.1 points per game this season, evidence of their impressive work on defense, but the Vikings are even better than that at 18.4.

While the pair have their offensive weapons to aim for, defense has been crucial to both teams and this could turn out to be a tight affair.

Justin Jefferson anytime touchdown scorer (-105)

If anyone is going to get into the end zone for Minnesota, then it will very likely be wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who was dynamite in the victory over Seattle last weekend.

The 25-year-old had 10 receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns, making it five TDs from his last three games, and he is Darnold's undisputed top target.

Jefferson has 10 touchdowns for the season, half of those coming over the last three games, and he is hitting his peak at just the right time in the campaign.

With Darnold also in fine form, Jefferson looks capable of finding some space and getting into the end zone at least once in front of a packed home crowd.
