Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Dallas Cowboys have fared much better on the road this season than at home and are looking to pick up a third away victory when they visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The Cowboys suffered back-to-back home losses in Week 2 and Week 3 against the New Orleans Saints and the Baltimore Ravens, but they are 2-0 on the road so far after winning at the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants.

The Steelers came into the season with moderate expectations but won their first three games before suffering their first loss of the year against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Dallas has a rest advantage having played the Thursday night game in Week 4, but has been hit by some notable defensive injuries with Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence both set to miss this game. Quarterback Dak Prescott will also be missing a receiving option with Brandin Cooks sidelined by a knee problem.

The Cowboys won 35-30 on their last visit to Pittsburgh, but that was eight years ago and a more modest points total is expected this time.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Pittsburgh Steelers betting picks and predictions

Jake Ferguson anytime touchdown scorer (+220)

Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson is still looking for his first touchdown catch of the new season but he looks a prime candidate to open his account for 2024 at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday.

Ferguson had five touchdowns in the regular season last year and added three more in the Cowboys' playoff loss to the Packers, scoring from one, seven and 14 yards.

He has played only three of the team's four games this season after dealing with a knee injury that caused him to miss the Week 2 game against the Saints.

However, he showed he hadn't lost a step when returning in Week 3 as he caught six passes for 95 yards in the game against the Ravens.

Ferguson has attracted the second-most targets on the team despite playing only three-quarters of the games. With wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who ranks joint-third on that list with 19 targets, ruled out of the trip to the Steelers, Ferguson should be set for another high-volume day.

The Steelers haven't allowed all that many points or scores this season, but the only touchdown they gave up to the Falcons in Week 1 was scored by tight end Kyle Pitts, while Drew Ogletree of the Colts caught a 15-yard score against them on Sunday.

Chris Boswell Over 6.5 kicking points (-115)

The exact look of the Pittsburgh offense this week is hard to pin down with running backs Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) both battling injuries, which could lead to an uptick in usage for main man Najee Harris.

One reliable source of points for Mike Tomlin's team, however, is kicker Chris Bowell and he can be expected to contribute seven or more to the Steelers' cause.

The 33-year-old has exceeded his kicking points line for this game in three of his four appearances this season and scored all 18 of his team's points against Atlanta in Week 1.

Seven points against the Broncos and eight against the Chargers followed and he was just short of this line in Week 4, when he booted three extra points and a 50-yard field goal in the loss to the Colts.

Boswell has failed to convert only one of his 18 kick attempts this season - a long three-point try against the Chargers -  and can be relied upon to add to the total whenever the Steelers offense is able to grind its way close enough to the posts.
