Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

An all-NFC West clash takes place at Levi's Stadium on Sunday as the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals collide.

After suffering back-to-back road losses, Brock Purdy and the Niners bounced back last week with a 30-13 home victory over the struggling New England Patriots while the Cardinals were far less impressive in a 42-14 home defeat to the Washington Commanders.

Arizona are now 1-3 for the 2024 NFL season and the odds suggest that head coach Jonathan Gannon has a big task on his hands in containing San Francisco.

Arizona Cardinals vs. San Francisco 49ers betting picks and predictions

San Francisco 49ers -7.0 (-115)

While Arizona will be desperate to respond to last week's humbling, this is not a matchup which the Cardinals have relished over the last two seasons.

The Niners have won each of the last four meetings with their NFC West rivals and with Brock Purdy at quarterback last season, they triumphed 35-16 in Santa Clara in October and 45-29 on the road in Arizona in December.

Cardinals fans will point out that Kyler Murray was unavailable for three of those four meetings, but his presence in their most recent clash only served to keep the score respectable as San Francisco won 45-29 late in the 2023 regular season before going all the way to the NFL Championship Game.

Kyle Shanahan's men haven't looked at their NFC Championship-winning best so far this season but they have scored 62 points in their two games at Levi's Stadium and Purdy can call on a number of offensive weapons in the continued absence of Christian McCaffrey.

Fellow running back Jordan Mason has stepped up manfully in the absence of the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, while Deebo Samuel was welcomed back into the fold after missing Week 3 with a calf injury.

San Francisco should put up their share of points but the same can't be said for the Cardinals.

Arizona pushed the Bills on the road in a 34-28 Week 1 loss then set fire to a porous Rams secondary in Week 2 with rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. breaking out in spectacular fashion.

Since then, however, the Cards scored 13 points at Detroit and failed to live with Jayden Daniels and the Commanders last week.

With Shanahan not the type of coach who is content to sit on a lead, expect the Niners to be aggressive on offense and pull away late in the contest.

Jauan Jennings anytime touchdown scorer (+200)

The usual suspects dominate the touchdown scorer markets with Mason, Samuel, James Conner and Harrison Jr. rated most likely to get into the end zone, but it's the 49ers' Jauan Jennings who offers the best value.

Jennings produced remarkable numbers in Week 3, hauling in 11 receptions and three TDs from 12 targets, and he was never going to replicate that showing last weekend.

However, he remains one of Purdy's favorite deep threats. He was targeted six times last week and he leads San Francisco in red-zone targets.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Over 54.5 receiving yards (-110)

NFL defenses are well aware of the threat posed by Marvin Harrison Jr. through four games of his rookie year but the 49ers could struggle to stop the star wideout from racking up the yards on Sunday.

Harrison Jr. has averaged 90.33 yards from his last three games and while he was quieter against the Commanders last week, he should benefit from the expected return of tight end Trey McBride.

The Niners have been average when it comes to stopping the pass and Murray will have to throw the ball if his team falls behind. Harrison Jr. will be the man he looks to first.
