These teams had opposite fortunes on either side of the All-Star Break.
The Phillies went 62-34 for the best record in the league in the first half while the Mets were three games over .500. After the break, Philly went 33-33. The Mets went 40-27, including 17-9 in September.
New York enters this series with plenty of momentum after beating the Milwaukee Brewers in three games in the Wild Card round, but the Phillies are well rested after earning the first-round bye.
