The second weekend of the 2024/25 Men's College Basketball season brings us a Pitino family battle as Rick's No. 22 St. John's Red Storm hosts Richard's New Mexico Lobos.
Rick Pitino is in his second year at St. John's. He led the team to a 20-13 record but missed out on the NCAA Tournament as a result of the team's 11-9 record in the Big East.
Richard Pitino, Rick's son, is in his fourth season at New Mexico and the program's record has improved in each of his seasons at the helm. Last season, he led the team to its first Tournament berth since 2014, but the Lobos fell in the first round to Clemson.
Both teams enter this matchup undefeated: New Mexico is 3-0 and St. John's is 2-0.
New Mexico vs. St. John's will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1, which can be viewed through cable TV packages or streamed via live TV streaming apps such as YouTubeTV or FuboTV.
New Mexico vs. St. John's is scheduled to tip off at 12 PM ET/10 AM MT/9 AM PT on Sunday, November 17th with the game taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
