The New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres get the 2024/25 NHL regular season underway from Prague, Czechia on Friday, one of two sets of games in the NHL Global Series.
The two Eastern Conference teams – both of whom missed the playoffs in 2023/24 – will play a pair of games on back-to-back days starting Friday, October 4.
New Jersey enters the new season under new leadership, with former Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe joining the staff this offseason.
Buffalo also has a new head coach in former Sabres player (1979-89) and coach (1997-2013) Lindy Ruff, who is aiming to end what is currently the second-longest playoff drought (13 seasons) in the top four American sports leagues.
