The blockbuster undisputed female middleweight bout between Claressa Shields and Savannah Marshall will take place on Saturday October 15th, BOXXER have announced.
The two fighters were due to put their decade-long rivalry to bed at the O2 Arena in London earlier this month as part of an historic all-female night of fighting action.
However, the event was postponed by the British Boxing Board of Control just 24 hours ahead of fight night, due to thepassing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The hotly-anticipated showdown between Shields and Marshall will top the bill in the capital on October 15th, with the rest of the undercard remaining unchanged from the original date.
The news means arch-enemies Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner will offer chief-support to the main event, as the two Americans collide in a bid to unify the super featherweight division.
Meanwhile, Tokyo 2020 Olympic gold medallist Lauren Price and fellow Team GB stars Karriss Artingstall and Caroline Dubois will also look to light up the capital as BOXXER plays host to an iconic and celebratory night of women’s boxing.
