Any analysis on this game needs to start with mentioning a hurricane that is expected to pass through Florida around Thursday, so the South Florida area should still be feeling the effects of strong wind and rain on Friday. 

That could certainly throw a wrench into the plans of the undefeated Hurricanes, who have spent the last few weeks beating up lesser competition. 

While the Hokies have been disappointing this season, there’s avenues for Virginia Tech to compete in this game. After all, this is still one of the more veteran teams in the country, and it’s hard to discount an experienced team that still has their entire conference schedule in front of them, even after a pair of losses in nonconference play.

There are still questions with the coaching staff as well, particularly if Miami finally finds itself in a closer game than most would think. 

At the end of the day, Miami should win this game, but there are quite a few reasons that this one might be much more of a battle than the near three touchdown line might indicate.
