Bahamas Bowl: Buffalo vs. Liberty Picks, Predictions and Odds

The Bahamas Bowl marks the final non-College Football Playoff Bowl Game of the season and will be played between the Buffalo Bulls and the Liberty Flames.

The Bahamas Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2025 and kickoff is set for 11:00 AM ET at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, The Bahamas.

Let's break down our two best bets for this game.

Buffalo vs. Liberty betting picks and predictions

Liberty ML (+120)

The Liberty Flames had another solid season, finishing the year with a record of 8-3.

That being said, the Flames had some tough losses, losing to FBS newcomer Kennesaw State by three, the eventual Conference USA Champion, Jacksonville State by 10 and Sam Houston State by two in the regular season finale.

Despite this, there is reason to believe that the Flames will be able to handle the Buffalo Bulls due to their balanced offense.

The Flames are led by quarterback Kaidon Salter, who threw for 1,886 yards with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also added 587 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

Aside from Salter, the Flames also heavily utilized running back Quinton Cooley, who rushed for 1,254 and 13 touchdowns.

On the other side is the Buffalo Bulls out of the MAC, who finished the year with a record of 8-4. Unfortunately for the Bulls, they did not do enough to make it to the MAC Championship Game as their losses to Western Michigan and Ohio were too much to overcome.

Buffalo find themselves as the small favorite in this game, however for our first best bet, we will be targeting Liberty to win the game outright.

The Flames balanced offense, especially their rushing offense looks to be the difference in this game, therefore backing the Liberty Flames to win (+120) will be our play.

Total Over 51 Points (-110)

For our second best bet in the Bahamas Bowl, we will be looking at taking the over.

There is likely some concern with this game being in the Bahamas as the travel could create some fatigue on both sides. On top of that, this game has an 11 AM ET start time.

Despite that, both teams have proven they can be explosive offensively. The Flames are averaging 30 points per game, while defensively they are allowing 23.3 points per game.

As for the Bulls, they are averaging 29.1 points per game and are allowing 28 points per game.

The combination of Liberty’s relatively high-scoring offense and Buffalo’s questionable defense leads us to looking at the over in this game.

Further, Liberty’s defense has had plenty of holes this season, therefore backing the Over 51 (-110) will be our second-best bet.
