Read the latest betting picks, predictions, odds and player props for the men's tournament Midwest Region first-round matchup between No. 6 South Carolina and No. 11 Oregon.

The Ducks (20-11) are fresh off a Pac-12 tournament title, defeating UCLA, Arizona, and Colorado along the way to earn an automatic bid to the dance.

On the other side, South Carolina (26-7) got an at-large bid after a great season under second-year head coach Lamont Paris, although the Gamecocks suffered a 31-point loss to Auburnin the SEC tournament on March 15.

Oregon vs. South Carolina betting picks and predictions

South Carolina Money Line -120

Oregon comes into this game with a record of 23-11. The Ducks won the Pac-12 Tournament, beating the Colorado Buffaloes and earning them an automatic bid in the tournament.

The Ducks were an average offense this season, averaging 75.4 points per game. Their more pressing issue was their defense, which allowed 71.9 points per game. Further, before winning the Pac-12, the Ducks were inconsistent, losing to several teams they should have been beating.

On the other side, South Carolina comes into this game with a record of 26-7. The Gamecocks lost to Auburn in the SEC quarterfinals, but did enough this season to earn an at-large bid.

South Carolina’s offense was below average this season, scoring an average of 72 points per game, which ranked 222nd in the country. Their defense however, was their strength, ranking 46th and allowing just 67 points per game.

This game is nearly a pick 'em with South Carolina set as a small favorite. The Gamecocks may have been blown out in the SEC Tournament, but they have been more tested this season in the SEC, compared to Oregon in the Pac-12.

The Gamecocks’ defense looks to be the difference in this game, therefore backing South Carolina on the money line at -120 will be our best bet.

In addition to our main Oregon vs. South Carolina prediction, below we have provided our favorite player prop for tonight’s game between Oregon and South Carolina.

B.J. Mack Over 13.5 Points

Our favorite player points prop will target B.J. Mack to go over 13.5 points. Mack is the second highest scorer on South Carolina, averaging 13.6 points per game. He has scored at least 14 points in 18 games this season.

This includes his last three games in a row and seven of his last 10 games. During the two games the Gamecocks played in the SEC Tournament, Mack averaged 16.5 points per game.

For the Gamecocks to avoid the upset this afternoon, Mack will likely need to have a big game.
