New Atlanta Hawks small forward and No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher is +450 to win 2024/25 NBA Rookie of the Year.
Risacher was selected with the first overall pick in Wednesday night’s NBA Draft, becoming the second-straight French teenager taken No. 1 after the San Antonio Spurs picked Victor Wembanyama last June.
The 19-year-old heads to a team that has playoff potential and two All-Star caliber guards in Trae Young and Dejounte Murray – a better hand than most No. 1 picks are dealt.
At 6-foot-9, 215 pounds, Risacher has the ideal build of a modern NBA wing. While his numbers from the 2023/24 season in France don’t jump off the page, Risacher impressed in the EuroCup, averaging 13.1 PPG on 56.1 3P% in 17 games.
Like most teenage prospects that go high in the draft, Risacher has the tools to develop into an All-Star caliber player.
He currently trails only Washington Wizards No. 2 overall pick Alex Sarr (+400) in the Rookie of the Year betting.
