Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers Game 6: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The 2024/25 NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder has already provided tremendous theatre for basketball fans, and Game 5 saw Oklahoma City seize control of the series with a dominant fourth quarter from its elite defense at home.

With the Pacers now in must-win mode for the first time this series, Game 6 has the potential to be another thriller, especially if the previous game in Indiana is any indication.

Will the Thunder close out the series and capture the NBA title on the road, or will the Pacers force a deciding Game 7? Let’s get into our expert’s betting picks and predictions for Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Indiana Pacers Game 6 betting picks and predictions

Oklahoma City Thunder -6.5 (-105)

Even though their form in road games this postseason has been a major concern (1-8 against the spread, 5-4 straight up), that shouldn’t discourage bettors from backing the Thunder in Thursday's potential close-out game.

Part of what makes this Pacers team click is Indiana’s balanced scoring, and that proved decisive down the stretch in Games 1 and 3, as the likes of Pascal Siakam, Tyrese Haliburton, Andrew Nembhard, and Aaron Nesmith all came up big down the stretch.

However, Oklahoma City has found something defensively since falling behind 2-1 in this series, as this elite Thunder defense has put together its best stretches of the series in the fourth quarters of Game 4 and 5.

The likes of Lu Dort, Cason Wallace and Alex Caruso have done a much better job containing Haliburton’s scoring and playmaking over the past two games. Given the concerns around Haliburton’s injury status heading into this game, the Pacers point guard shouldn’t be all that effective against this tenacious Thunder perimeter defense.

Offensively, Oklahoma City has seemed to find its way over the last two games, as Jalen Williams has stepped up massively to take some of the pressure and scoring load off Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

With that in mind, expect Oklahoma City to come out aggressively on offense and maintain a high level of defensive intensity in the fourth quarter en route to a win while covering the spread, which will see them lift the Larry O'Brien Trophy.

Over 221.5 total points (-110)

Despite the fact that the market is shading toward the Under in this game, our expert can only look toward the Over on Thursday.

All games involving the Pacers this postseason have featured an extremely fast pace, and it’s been clear that Indiana's game plan is to push the ball in transition and create easy offense early in the shot clock.

Naturally, this is a style of play that lends itself well to higher-scoring games, which is what we should see in Game 6.

As for the visitors, the Thunder are no stranger to playing at a fast pace this postseason, and Oklahoma City has also started to force turnovers in bunches in crucial moments over the last two games. This should continue on Thursday, even away from the friendly confines of the Paycom Center.

Ultimately, our expert is forecasting that we’ll see plenty of possessions on Friday, which should give both teams plenty of cracks at putting up points in what is a pivotal game.

Pascal Siakam Over 32.5 points, assists and rebounds (-115)

For the final Thunder vs. Pacers prediction for Game 6, our expert is targeting Pascal Siakam to exceed his points + rebounds + assists prop for the fourth consecutive game.

Given Haliburton’s injury status and the general effort from Oklahoma City’s perimeter defense to limit the effectiveness of the Pacers point guard, we can expect the Indiana floor general to struggle a bit in Game 6.

However, one player who has thrived in his matchups this series has been Siakam, who is a player that can be trusted to produce in big moments, having already won a title with the Toronto Raptors in 2019.

With so much of the focus expected to be on Haliburton, Nembhard and the Pacers backcourt, the veteran forward should be able to pick up a lot of the slack in terms of scoring and holding his own on the glass, which he has done very effectively over the last three games.

As long as Oklahoma City's defensive focus continues to center around limiting Haliburton’s effectiveness, Siakam should be in a good position to succeed in this one.

Ultimately, Siakam has cleared his points + rebounds +assists prop number in four of the five games in this series, so let’s go back to the well and look for the Pacers forward to make an impact in all phases of the game on Thursday.
