New York Knicks vs. Los Angeles Lakers: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Los Angeles Lakers end their six-game homestand on Thursday as they face the New York Knicks at the Crypto.com Arena.

JJ Redick’s Lakers have won all of the previous five games so they go into this clash full of confidence, having moved into second in the Western Conference.

This will be the first game of a five-game West Coast streak for the Knicks, who are currently third in the East with a 40-21 record.

These two franchises have played on 300 previous occasions in NBA regular season history, with the Lakers winning 174 times to New York’s 126.

New York Knicks vs. Los Angeles Lakers betting picks and predictions

Los Angeles Lakers -4.5 (-105)

Luka Doncic’s mid-season switch from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers shocked the basketball world, but his arrival in LA has inspired the Lakers.

Since his debut against the Utah Jazz on February 10th, the Lakers have won eight of their 10 games and look to be back on track in their bid for a 19th Championship.

Los Angeles’ resurgence has been built around a strong run at the Crypto.com Arena, with Redick’s squad winning 24 of their 31 games at home.

They have also won the only previous meeting with the Knicks this season, claiming a 128-112 success at Madison Square Garden in February.

Dalton Knecht may get the nod over Gabe Vincent alongside Doncic in the backcourt after Vincent struggled on offense in Tuesday's comfortable win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Knicks head across the US having won three and lost three of their last six games, notably losing to the Golden State Warriors at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.

Tom Thibodeau’s men are fifth in points per game this season, although they haven’t been as successful in and around the paint in recent weeks.

New York has been below their season average of 117.4 points in each of their last seven games and will need to step up a level to challenge the Lakers.

The Lakers have been without Austin Reaves for their last two games and the shooting guard is listed as day-to-day with a calf injury. The Knicks could be without Precious Achiuwa, with the 6-foot-8 power forward still having to manage a hamstring problem.

Center Mitchell Robinson is still working his way back to full fitness following ankle surgery and looks set to miss out, but Karl-Anthony Towns should return.

Regardless of whether New York gets its main interior threat back, the Lakers are playing stellar basketball and that should continue on Thursday night.

LeBron James Over 26.5 Points (-115)

Having stayed healthy for the majority of this season, LeBron James is now up to 12th in the NBA in points per game.

The NBA legend has averaged 24.9 points across 56 appearances and has beaten this 26.5 target in four of his last five games.

King James goes into Thursday night’s clash off the back of firing 34 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the 136-115 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The 40-year-old also shined in last month’s win in New York, when he scored 33 against the Knicks.

New York Knicks Under 112.5 Points (-115)

The Knicks head to California having failed to hit 120 points in any of their last five games, and they face a Lakers team that has been strong on defense.

None of the Lakers' last eight opponents have scored more than 115 points, with seven of them failing to reach the 112.5 line.

It’s also worth noting that the Knicks have not scored more than 114 in any of their last four meetings with the Lakers, giving the Under for their points line more appeal.
