New York Knicks vs. Indiana Pacers Game 4: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

After failing to make the most of a raucous Madison Square Garden and losing the opening two games of the Eastern Conference Finals, the New York Knicks gained a much-needed victory in Game 3 to ensure they would be heading back to the Big Apple with the series still up for grabs.

It was beginning to look like another one of those nights for the Knicks as they trailed the Indiana Pacers 58-45 at half-time in Game 3 and then found themselves 20 points down heading into the fourth quarter.

However, Tom Thibodeau’s side rallied impressively to land a six-point victory and they will be motivated to square things up before they head back to MSG.

Losing Game 3 is nothing new to the Pacers, though, and Indiana looks set to put themselves on the cusp of a first NBA Finals appearance since 2000.

New York Knicks vs. Indiana Pacers Game 4 betting picks and predictions

Indiana Pacers Moneyline (-135)

Losing Game 3 will have come as a shock to precisely zero Pacers fans, as they did the exact same thing against the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference semifinals before absolutely trouncing those opponents in Game 4.

A 26-point rout saw off the Bucks in Game 4 during the first round and a 129-109 victory over the Cavs in the same stage of the semifinals suggest they will not let the Knicks’ victory rock them.

Of course, how they lost was far from ideal, but Rick Carlisle is an extremely experienced coach and he can be trusted to make the right tweaks to his system to get back to winning ways.

Indiana has lost just four of its last 20 home matches, and it can bounce back to make it 3-1 in the series, which would put it firmly in the driver's seat to make the Finals.

Tyrese Haliburton Over 9.5 assists (+110)

While it certainly was not entirely his fault that the Pacers blew a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter last time, Tyrese Haliburton showed some real maturity by holding his hands up and taking the blame, stating “I felt like I did a poor job of keeping pace in the game, especially in the fourth quarter. I feel like I was walking the ball up every play, so I know it's got to be a big area of improvement for me.”

Haliburton is a perfectionist. Even if nobody else is blaming him, he blames himself, and he will want to prove a point in Game 4. He alluded towards his lack of intensity costing Indiana a third straight victory and he will show no such signs of lethargy this time around.

After a stunning 31-point show in Game 1, the Pacers guard eased a bit next time, putting up 14 points. However, he did still match his assist tally of 11 and it would be no surprise to see him get closer to that level again, rather than the seven he put up last time.

Haliburton has averaged 10 assists in his 36 home games this season and he will be keen to give the Pacers faithful a playmaking clinic before heading back to Madison Square Garden.

Pascal Siakam Over 20.5 points (-105)

With Haliburton expected to be dishing dimes all night, it makes sense to double up by backing another Pacer to clear his points line. There are a few tempting options, including Myles Turner, who posted 20 points last time, but it is Pascal Siakam who catches the eye most.

The Pacers star actually saw his average points per game fall to 20.2 this season from 21.3 last term, but his three-point success rate was the highest it has ever been, at 38.9 percent, despite taking 1.7 more shots from beyond the arc than in the last campaign.

Despite being 31 now, the Cameroonian is still improving his game and he gave the Knicks a torrid time in Game 2, racking up a mammoth 39 points. He put up 17 in the two games either side of that sensational performance but he could clear a line of 20.5 this time.

Josh Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns both suffered minor knee injuries on Sunday, and while Thibodeau is confident the pair will be available, they may not be as mobile as usual, leaving the lanes open for Siakam to attack and rack up the points.
