New Orleans Pelicans vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Game 2: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The New Orleans Pelicans and the Oklahoma City Thunder head to Paycom Center on Wednesday night for Game 2 of their best-of-seven playoff series.

The Thunder hold a 1-0 lead as they prepare for another clash on their home court, following a 94-92 success there in Game 1.

The Pelicans, though, have had a good record on the road this season and will feel they can level the series before they return to NOLA for Game 3.

New Orleans Pelicans vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Game 2 betting picks and predictions

New Orleans Pelicans +7.5

The opening game of the series saw two evenly matched teams battle it out and the Pelicans will feel they can gain a crucial win in Game Two.

The two teams met three times during the regular season, with the Thunder winning two of those encounters, but the win for New Orleans came in Oklahoma.

That night they collected a 110-106 success, back in early November 2023, with CJ McCollum scoring 29 points.

The form on the road of Willie Green’s men has been eye-catching, with 28 wins outside of New Orleans in their 42 regular season games on the road.

The Pelicans showed enough in Game One to suggest they can level the series on Wednesday, with both McCollum and Trey Murphy shining - scoring 20+ points each.

What was particularly impressive was the way that the Pelicans ended Game One, outscoring the hosts 24-20 in the final quarter.

Oklahoma City Thunder 1st Quarter ML -170

Much of OKC’s recent success has been down to fast starts and with the home crowd fully behind them, it could be another repeat in Game Two.

In the opening clash, the two sides were level at 17-17 after the first quarter, but prior to that the Thunder had been in front in their previous three games after the opening 12 minutes/

Mark Daigneault’s side scored 39 first-quarter points in their win over the Dallas Mavericks, 41 against the Milwaukee Bucks and 34 in victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

CJ McCollum Over 20.5 points (-120)

With Zion Williamson ruled out for at least another week with a hamstring issue, a lot of the focus will be on McCollum to deliver the goods for the Pelicans.

The shooting guard was his team’s top scorer in six of the last seven regular season games – which included 30+ point hauls against Orlando, San Antonio, Sacramento and Phoenix.

In four appearances against OKC this season, McCollum has averaged 21 points against the Thunder and will be key to their chances of success on Wednesday.

It’s also worth noting that the 32-year-old averaged 20 points per game in 66 appearances during the regular season – with a 20.2 average in games on the road.
