Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Denver Nuggets will host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night and both Western Conference teams head into the showdown on two-game winning streaks.

Denver is coming off consecutive victories over the Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz, while Minnesota recently defeated the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons.

Overall, though, the Nuggets are not playing particularly well – they are just 6-6 in their last 12 outings. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, are 11-3 in their last 14 games.

Ahead of Timberwolves vs. Nuggets, which starts at 10:00 PM ET and will be nationally televised on TNT, it’s time to take a look at the odds and best bets to make.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets betting picks and predictions

Minnesota Timberwolves +2.5 (-115)

The Nuggets are not exactly heading into Tuesday’s matchup with a ton of momentum. After all, they might not even be able to remember their wins over the Bucks and Jazz.

Denver has not played since last Friday, but three full days off have not done a whole lot to clean up the injury report. The good news is that Nikola Jokic (ankle) and Christian Braun (foot) are probable. while Jamal Murray (hamstring) and Aaron Gordon (illness and calf) are questionable.

Minnesota is looking much better in terms of the infirmary, as Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is the only player on the roster with any kind of injury distinction – and he logs just 10.1 minutes per game while scoring 4.5 ppg.

The Timberwolves are a force to be reckoned with when their starting five of Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, Jaden McDaniels and Mike Conley is healthy.

Most encouraging is that Randle appears to be heating up down the stretch of the regular season. He went for 25 points, six rebounds and eight assists against the Suns before contributing 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists against the Pistons.

The Timberwolves have completely dominated this matchup in 2024/25 and are looking to complete a 4-0 regular-season series sweep on Tuesday. They beat the Nuggets by three points at home on November 1, rolled by 29 (also at home) on January 25 and then dominated in Denver 115-95 on March 12.

There is a lot to like about Minnesota tonight, especially as an underdog and with Denver perhaps not entirely at full strength.

Under 232.5 Total Points (-110)

These two Western Conference rivals faced each other two and half weeks ago in Denver and only 210 combined points were scored even though Minnesota shot 47.8 percent from the floor and 42.5 percent from three-point range.

The Nuggets made just seven three-pointers in that outing, but it’s not like that number is a complete aberration. They make the fourth-fewest triples per game in the association (only the Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans sink fewer shots from downtown).

The Timberwolves rank eighth league wide in opponents’ three-point shooting percentage, so you have to think the home team’s woes from the perimeter could continue.

Minnesota, which is No. 21 in pace of play (101.3 possessions per game), has held three of its last four opponents under 110 points, including only allowing 93 points against the Pelicans.

All things considered, the Under looks like a strong play.

Julius Randle Over 19.5 Points (-110)

Randle has every reason to enjoy a productive night at the office. The former Kentucky standout has led his team in scoring on each of the past two occasions, so he goes into Tuesday with a ton of confidence.

Moreover, he has found plenty of success in this particular matchup against Denver – averaging 23.0 points in the three head-to-head contests this season.

Randle has exceeded the 20-point mark in all three meetings and most recently pinned 25 points on the Nuggets last month while shooting 9/12 from the floor.

And why wouldn’t it continue? Among all NBA teams, Denver allows the sixth most points in the paint (50.6 per game). Expect Randle to capitalize.
