Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors Game 6: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Golden State Warriors take a 3-2 lead into Friday’s Game 6 against the Houston Rockets, with homecourt advantage set to see Steph Curry and company attempt to knock out the team that finished second in the West.

The Chase Center will be packed and the home fans will be desperate to play a role in helping GSW make sure there won’t be a decider in Texas on Sunday.

Jimmy Butler has only been a Warrior for a month but has already made an impact and his experience could prove to be key on Friday night.

Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors betting picks and predictions

Golden State Warriors -5.5 (-110)

A 95-85 victory in Houston in Game 1 could prove the decisive factor in the series, as home comforts look set to allow GSW to move on to the Conference semifinals.

There were five places separating these teams in the regular season standings, but the Warriors' playoff know-how looks like getting them over the line.

You have to go back to 1995 for the last time the Rockets were crowned champions and this is the first time they have reached the playoffs since the 2019/20 season.

In contrast, Golden State have won four championships since Houston’s last success and have only failed to make the playoffs in three of the last 13 seasons.

It’s three wins in a row at the Chase Center for Steve Kerr’s men, who had made it 15 straight victories over the Rockets with regular season W’s in November and December.

GSW are further boosted by the news that Jonathan Kuminga is set to return for Game 6, having sat out Thursday’s clash due to illness.

Kerr decided to rest some of his key stars when the game had slipped away in Houston and so the Warriors should be fresh and ready to go.

The Rockets hopes of forcing a decider have been hit by the news that Jock Landale will play no part on Friday. The center missed the first four games of the series due to a knee injury and although he suited up in Game 5, he has been ruled out of the latest clash.

Jimmy Butler Over 22.5 Points (-115)

He might be 35, but Jimmy Butler still has a lot to offer on the NBA stage and his trade in April could prove to be an inspired move for the Dubs.

The former Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls star is still looking for his first championship ring and you wouldn’t rule him out collecting that this season.

Butler scored 38 points on his debut against Memphis last month. Although he has been hampered by a pelvis issue due to a hard fall during the Rockets series, he did register 25 points in the Game 1 victory in Texas.

The six-time NBA All-Star has a points average of 15.8 this season, but if the Warriors get on a roll then Butler could help himself to another big total.

Alternative Game Total - Under 205.0 (+110)

It’s not been a high-scoring series to date, with Houston’s 131-point tally in Game 5 the only time one of the teams has scored over 120 points.

That clash at the Toyota Center is also the only game in the series that has led to a total of more than 215 points.

So Game 6 is expected to follow a similar theme of being a tight contest, with three of the five games to date seeing Under 205.0 points between the two teams.
