Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings will meet for the second time in three weeks on Wednesday night.

In the previous matchup, the Kings (22-20) won by 30 points in a massive blowout as the Warriors (21-21) failed to crack 100 points.

Golden State will be looking for revenge on Wednesday, but the oddsmakers have listed the Warriors as 7.5-point underdogs against a red-hot Kings team.

Will Sacramento stay hot against Steph Curry and company? Let’s preview this matchup with our expert’s best bet and two player props.

Golden State Warriors vs. Sacramento Kings betting picks and predictions

Kings -7.5 (-110)

There is only one team in the NBA that has won nine of their last 10 games. That would be the Kings, who have been the hottest team in the league this month.

Their only loss in the 10-game span was against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks despite the Kings scoring 115 points.

As for the other nine games, the Kings have been dominant. They’ve beaten some below-average teams like the Wizards, Bulls, and 76ers, but they’ve also defeated some of the elite teams in the league like the Celtics, Rockets, and Grizzlies.

Their success in the last two weeks has not been a fluke either considering they rank sixth in offensive rating, fourth in defensive rating, third in rebounding percentage, third in turnover percentage, and fourth in pace. The Kings play fast and efficiently which has been difficult to stop.

In the last matchup between these two teams, the Kings took an early lead and never looked back. It was a full team effort for Sacramento too since Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan, Malik Monk, Keegan Murray, Keon Ellis, Devin Carter, and Kevin Huerter all finished with double-digit points.

Sacramento also took full advantage of Golden State’s lackluster perimeter defense and shot 44.2 percent from three-point land.

The Warriors have lost four of their last seven games since their blowout loss to the Kings. Those losses have ranged from a three-point defeat to the horrendous Raptors and a 40-point loss to the Celtics last time out.

The bottom line is that if Steph Curry isn’t scoring 30 or more points per night, the Warriors are in trouble. Golden State needs more consistency from Andrew Wiggins and better shooting numbers from Dennis Schroder.

There’s a lot to critique about the state of the Warriors right now, so take the Kings by the spread to win their 10th in the last 11 games.

De’Aaron Fox Over 5.5 Assists (-145)

Sacramento’s blowout win over the Warriors a few weeks ago came with De’Aaron Fox on the bench. The point guard was injured and missed the game, but a week off was all he needed to return to the lineup.

Since rejoining the starting roster, Fox has three, six, seven, and 13 assists in the four games. He averaged 7.1 assists in December and is sitting at 6.3 per game in a limited sample size in January.

Malik Monk stepped into the starting lineup in place of Fox a few weeks ago against the Warriors and he totaled 12 assists in just 29 minutes.

He became the primary ball distributor and was finding DeRozan and Sabonis in mismatched situations throughout the game which led to plenty of easy assists.

With Fox back into that role, he should produce a similar performance to Monk’s and finish with plenty of assists.

Buddy Hield Over 10.5 Points (-110)

Buddy Hield is a crucial part of the Golden State offense because of his elite perimeter shooting. However, he hasn’t seen his normal amount of time on the court in the last two games because the two opponents have been the Wizards and Celtics.

Golden State used a lot of their bench in their win over Washington to preserve players for Boston, but the Warriors were getting blown out by the Celtics and not many starters played their normal minutes.

Hield only played 18 minutes in the loss to the Kings a few weeks ago because of the massive second-half deficit. But in the games that weren’t blowouts this month, he scored 18, eight, 17, 19, 11, and 14 points.

As long as the Warriors can stay competitive until the end, Hield should have enough opportunities to score at least 11 points.
