2024 NBA Cup Odds: New York Knicks favored

Who will win the second edition of the NBA Cup in 2024?

The Los Angeles Lakers won the inaugural edition in 2023, but their historic rivals and the reigning NBA champions, the Boston Celtics, are the early favorites to lift the Cup in 2024.

Entering the NBA Cup knockout stage, the New York Knicks are the +325 favorites to win it all after finishing with a 4-0 record in a group featuring the Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and Charlotte Hornets.

Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson finished 13th in scoring in the group stage with 26.8 points per game on 50.0 percent shooting from the field. Karl-Anthony Towns averaged 21.0 points and 13.3 rebounds while OG Anunoby also contributed heavily with 18.8 points, 5.0 rebounds 1.3 blocks.

Second in the odds are the Oklahoma City Thunder at +400. They went 3-1 in West Group B against the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz, having only lost to the Spurs.

Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander finished tied for fourth in group stage scoring with 30.5 points along with 5.3 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 2.0 steals, and teammate Jalen Williams averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.0 steals.

The Milwaukee Bucks, after starting the season slowly, improved in time for the NBA Cup and are third in the market at +500 after winning a group featuring the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers. Bucks stars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo each averaged 29.3 points in group play.

Tied for fourth in the NBA Cup odds are the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, each at +650.

The Warriors went 3-1 in West Group C, which included the Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans. They only lost to the Nuggets, and Dubs point guard Stephen Curry averaged 23.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 8.0 assists over the four games.

The Rockets went 3-1 in their group, having beaten the Los Angeles Clippers, Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves before losing their final game to the Sacramento Kings. Center Alperen Sengun was the team's star with 19.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks, and Dillon Brooks and Jalen Green each averaged above 15.0 points.

Next in the odds are the +700 Mavericks, who got through to the knockout stage via the Wild Card as the second-placed team with the best point differential at +46. Luka Doncic finished third in group play scoring with 31.3 points per game.

The last two teams in the market - and the only ones at 10/1 or longer - are the +1000 Orlando Magic and the +2000 Atlanta Hawks.
