Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Indiana Pacers Game 4: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

Indiana Pacers opened up a 2-0 series lead against Cleveland Cavaliers with two surprise wins in Ohio but the Eastern Conference top seeds hit back in Game 3 with a commanding 126-104 victory to halve the deficit.

The return of Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley and starting point guard Darius Garland gave the Cavs a huge boost but it was Donovan Mitchell who carried the team with 43 points.

A pivotal Game 4 of this fascinating series takes place on Sunday, where a success for Indiana Pacers would put them one win away from a place in the Conference Finals and a victory for Cleveland Cavaliers would tie the series.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Indiana Pacers Game 4 betting picks and predictions

Cleveland Cavaliers -5 Point Spread  (-115)

The return of Garland, Mobley and De'Andre Hunter made a massive difference to Cleveland and we probably saw close to the best version of the Cavs in Game 3. However, it was still Mitchell who starred for the visitors and we can probably expect Garland, Mobley and Hunter to raise their levels even further on Sunday.

In contrast, Indiana Pacers definitely had an off-day in their first home game of the series and key man Tyrese Haliburton in particular struggled, finishing with just four points having scored 41 in total across the first two games. The hosts should step up and Game 4 is likely to be closer even if the Cavs are on top form again, but the away team can still beat what looks a fairly modest -5 handicap on the Point Spread.

Cleveland went into the second round after blowing away Miami Heat in four games in a series where they weren’t really tested. Three of their wins came by over 20 points, whereas the Pacers were taken to five games by Milwaukee Bucks and needed overtime to clinch the series in Game 5.

Indiana were a bit more locked in to postseason mode and the Cavs were missing some big players, but Game 3 suggested Cleveland are now fully up to speed and they have their stars back.

When the Cavs win they usually do it in style and each of their last seven wins have come by six or more points. They can beat the spread and tie this series before these two teams head back to Ohio.

Tyrese Haliburton over 21.5 points & rebounds (-115)

Haliburton underwhelmed in Game 3 but the All-Star point guard should be expected to respond with a big game on Sunday.

Haliburton has scored at least 17 points in five of his seven postseason games this year and at least 20 points in three of those. The 25-year-old is -115 for over 17.5 points and as he averaged 18.6 points per game this season that is a strong option, but it could be better to combine points with rebounds.

Rebounding was an area where Indiana were outworked in the last game as they had just 37 to Cleveland’s 56. That is something the Pacers will look to rectify and their on-court general Haliburton may take a leading role in that.

The Iowa State product averaged 3.5 boards per game in the regular season but is weighing in with 5.5 per game in the playoffs. He recorded at least 22 points and rebounds combined in four straight games prior to the Game 3 loss.

Darius Garland over 2.5 rebounds (+120)

Garland played for 25 minutes in Game 3 and should get a bit more time on the court on Sunday as Cleveland Cavaliers bid to level the series.

Garland had two three-pointers in his first outing against the Pacers from seven attempts, while he had seven in total in two games against Miami Heat.

The guard averaged 2.8 three-pointers per game in the regular season, on just over 40% shooting, so he can hit at least three in Indianapolis in Game 4.
