Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The Chicago Bulls visit the Miami Heat on Friday night in the NBA Play-In Tournament, with the eighth and final seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs up for grabs.

The Heat reached the NBA Finals last year after coming through the Play-In, losing out in five games to the Denver Nuggets, while Chicago are looking to secure a return to the postseason after missing out last season.

A best-of-seven series against top seeds Boston Celtics awaits the winner of Friday’s winner-takes-all encounter in Miami.

Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat betting picks and predictions

Chicago Bulls ML (+105)

Chicago finished seven games behind the Heat in the regular season but these teams look fairly evenly matched. They split the regular season series 2-2, with each team winning once at home and once on the road.

At full strength, Miami would look the more likely winners here but they have some major injury issues with former Chicago star Jimmy Butler unavailable due to a knee injury he sustained in the first half of the defeat to Philadelphia 76ers in their opening Play-In game.

That game against the Sixers exposed Miami’s offensive issues as they struggled after Butler picked up the injury. The forward suffered the injury late in the first quarter but remained in the game, but after his knee buckled he was largely ineffective.

Miami held a 14-point lead at one stage in the second quarter but without Butler at 100 percent, they were unable to hold on to it and Philly fought back. Terry Rozier is also out of Friday’s game, limiting Miami’s offensive options further.

The Bulls have had injury issues to contend with all season but go into the game with the same group they had available for their 15-point win over Atlanta Hawks in their first Play-In game.

Chicago looks to be the team on the rise here with three wins in their last four games, and they can take down this Miami side who will be reeling from losing Butler for an extended period at such a key stage of the season.

Coby White over 27.5 points (+375)

This season has been huge for Chicago point guard Coby White, who has managed to establish himself as a regular starter in the absence of long-term injury victim Lonzo Ball.

White has played in and started more games than at any other point in his fifth season in the league, and unsurprisingly he has posted career-highs across all significant statistics.

The 24-year-old averaged a solid 19.1 points-per-game during the regular season shooting 44.7% from the field, but he raised his game significantly against the Hawks.

White weighed in with a career-high 42 points against Atlanta, shooting 15-21 overall and 3-7 from beyond the arc as he produced arguably the best display of his career.

Chicago may need another big display from the guard to get over the line against the Heat and he is capable of scoring heavily, recording at least 30 points in five regular season games, so the big price on White to reach at least 28 has real value after his stellar display against the Hawks.

Tyler Herro over 6.5 assists (+115)

Miami need a few players to step up offensively with Butler out and Tyler Herro will try and help fill that void.

The point guard finished up with 25 points against Philadelphia, having averaged 20.8 per-game through the regular season, and he was one assist short of a double-double.

Herro averaged a solid 4.5 assists per-game through the regular season but over the final two months of the campaign that figure stood at 5.0.

The Kentucky product had eight assists in the final regular season game against Toronto and then nine against the Sixers.

It is also worth noting that Herro didn’t feature at all against the Bulls in the regular season so that could give him a bit of an edge here, and seven or more dimes looks an achievable goal for the Heat guard.
