The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is back for another edition on Independence Day, and a big name is making his return to the competition.
Joey "Jaws" Chestnut is back after missing last year's contest due to signing an endorsement deal with a rival company. The Nathan's contest record holder is the heavy favorite to win it for the 17th time in his illustrious career.
But, he'll have to beat out reigning champion Patrick Bertoletti, who won the 2024 edition in Chestnut's absence by eating 58 hot dogs and buns.
Ahead of the 2025 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, which will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 12 PM ET on Friday, July 4, let's take a look at the outright odds.

Chestnut, the record holder with 71 hot dogs and buns consumed in 2021, is the heavy -1800 favorite to win his 17th career Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest.
Second in the odds is reigning champion Patrick Bertolleti (+1000), who won the 2024 edition with 58 hot dogs and buns eaten. That said, Chestnut was not involved in that contest.
James Webb is next in the odds at +2800, after finishing second with 53 hot dogs and buns eaten in last year's contest.
Geoffrey Esper, who finished third with 52 hot dogs eaten in 2024, is +3000 to win it in 2025.
Nick Wehry is +4000 and Derek Hendrickson is +10000 to win it, while any other contestant to win is +4000.
