Entering her seventh WNBA season, Napheesa Collier has established herself as one of the best women’s basketball players on the planet.
That was proven in 2024, when Collier had her best pro season yet. She finished second in MVP voting, won Defensive Player of the Year and led the Minnesota Lynx to the WNBA Finals for the first time since 2017.
Collier also co-founded Unrivaled, a 3v3 women’s basketball league that launched in 2025 to give top WNBA players an opportunity to make money in the offseason without having to leave the United States.

Collier took her game to new heights in 2024, establishing herself as one of the league’s top players and the Lynx as a championship contender.
The sixth-year player began the season red-hot, with eight double-doubles in the first 11 games of the season, in which the Lynx went 8-3. Her MVP-level play continued through to the Olympic break, during which Collier and Team USA won the gold medal in Paris.
After the break, Collier averaged 21 PPG on 52.8 FG% over the final 14 games of the regular season. The Lynx finished 30-10, the most regular season wins in franchise history, earning the 2-seed in the playoffs.

In the second game of the 2024 playoffs, Collier tied the WNBA single-game playoff scoring record with 42 points against the Phoenix Mercury. The Lynx swept Phoenix 2-0, with Collier averaging 40 PPG on 64.1 FG% across the two games.
She struggled in the opening two games of the second round vs. the Connecticut Sun, which the teams split 1-1 in Minnesota, scoring just 27 total points on 33.3% FG across the two contests. She then averaged 27.3 PPG on 60% FG over the final three games of the series, two of which were won by the Lynx, including a crucial Game 5 victory that sent Minnesota to its first WNBA Finals since 2017.
Despite losing to the New York Liberty in five games in the finals, Collier was again brilliant. In Game 1 vs. new York, she became the fist WNBA player to record 20+ points, 8+ rebounds, 6+ blocks and 3+ steals in a playoff game. In Game 3, she eclipsed Diana Taurasi’s single-year playoff scoring record of 249 points, which stood for 15 years prior.
Collier is third-favorite to win 2025 WNBA MVP at +300, trailing Caitlin Clark (+200) and A’ja Wilson (+225). Collier has finished top-five in MVP voting three times in six seasons, including a second-place finish in 2024.
The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is +400 to repeat in 2025, second in the betting behind Wilson (+150).
Collier is third-favorite to lead the league in points per game at +1100, as well as in rebounds per game at +3500. In 2024, Collier averaged 20.4 PPG, the fifth-most in the WNBA, and 9.7 RPG, the third-most in the league.

A supremely-talented and powerful forward, Collier is one of the premier two-way players in the WNBA.
On the offensive end, Collier, along with Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson, is the best low-post player in the league.
Her footwork, timing, and touch around the basket make her very difficult to guard. Collier isn’t the tallest when it comes to forwards in the WNBA, but her 6-foot-6 wingspan and basketball IQ allow her to shoot over or around players or dish the ball off to a teammate if there is not a clear lane to the basket.
In 2024, Collier took 268 of her 545 field goals from within eight feet of the basket, shooting 55.2% on such attempts.
She’s also a threat from the mid-range and from beyond the arc. On shots between eight and 16 feet from the hoop, Collier shot 57-for-119 (47.9%) in 2024. Over the past two seasons, she has attempted 214 threes, sinking 65 of them (30.4%).
On the defensive end, Collier is the anchor of a Lynx team that ranked second in the WNBA in defensive rating (94.8) and points allowed (75.6) in 2024. Her wingspan and anticipation makes her one of the best turnover creators (1.91 steals per game, 2nd in WNBA) and defensive rebounders (7.5 per game, 4th in WNBA) in the league.
Collier put her full offensive and defensive bag on display when she won Unrivaled inaugural 1-on-1 tournament in February 2025.
Collier is highly respected in the WNBA as both a player and a leader.
Not only is Collier the best player and captain of the Minnesota Lynx, but one of the premier activists for the WNBA and its players off the court, as well.
Collier serves as vice president of the Women’s National Basketball Players Association, a key role in negotiating the league’s new collective bargaining agreement (current CBA expires in October 2025), which determines a wide variety of factors involving player welfare such including contract values.
Collier and New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart co-founded Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 women’s basketball league that debuted in 2025 with the purpose of giving WNBA players a chance to earn money during the offseason without going overseas.
Unrivaled played its first season in early 2025, with Collier winning league MVP.
