Los Angeles Dodgers rightfielder Mookie Betts has made a big impact all postseason long, and he'll want to continue at his usual high level as he chases his third career World Series title.
Betts, who won the Series with the Boston Red Sox in 2018 and the Dodgers in 2020, enters the 2024 series as the +850 joint-fourth favorite to win World Series MVP.
The 32-year-old did not win World Series MVP in either of those years, but he does have a regular-season AL MVP Award from his time with the Sox.
Betts struggled in his first World Series, which was against the Dodgers. He batted .217/.308/.391 while going 5-for-23 with one double, one home run, one RBI and two walks.
He fared much better in 2020, when he and the Dodgers faced the Tampa Bay Rays in the Fall Classic. He batted .269/.321/.577, going 7-for-26 with two doubles, two home runs, three RBI and two walks.
In the 2024 postseason, though, Betts has just about reached his best. He's hitting .296/.404/.659 with four doubles, four home runs, 12 RBI and an 8-8 walk-strikeout ratio in 11 games.
To give his team the best chance of winning this series, he'll have to replicate that success at the plate.
Let's take a look at Betts' odds in Game 1 of the 2024 World Series.
