The first week of June is set to bring us one of the best UFC fight cards and this event includes a UFC Women's Bantamweight title fight between Julianna Pena and Kayla Harrison as the Co-Main Event.
UFC 316 is set to take place on Saturday, June 7, and will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
The event is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM ET with the Early Preliminary Card on ESPN. Following this will be the Preliminary Card at approximately 8:00 PM ET, and then the Main Card on pay-per-view via ESPN+ at 10:00 PM ET.
Our article will give you a breakdown of the UFC 316 Co-Main Event between Pena and Harrison. This will include our two best bets for this fight, as well as the current money line odds for both Pena and Harrison.
Our first best bet for the UFC 316 Co-Main Event between Pena and Harrison will target Harrison to win by KO/TKO/DQ or submission and become the new UFC Women's Bantamweight champion.
Harrison enters this fight with an MMA record of 18-1 and 2-0 in the UFC.
While Harrison has just two UFC fights to her name, both of these fights were dominant performances. Her UFC debut win was against Holly Holm in April 2024 by submission and her most recent win was against Ketlen Vieira in October 2024 by unanimous decision.
Harrison is a prolific striker, averaging 4.87 significant strikes per minute and she has a striking accuracy of 64%. As for her defense, Harrison is absorbing 1.19 significant strikes per minute and she has a striking defense of 64%.
Her grappling has also been excellent since joining the UFC, averaging 2.75 takedowns every 15 minutes. Additionally, Harrison has a takedown accuracy of 30% and a takedown defense of 100%.
Despite being the challenger, Harrison is a significant favorite to win this fight. Harrison has won 13 of her 18 career MMA fights by finish, which includes one of her two UFC fights.
For that reason, backing Harrison to win by stoppage at -175 will be our first best bet for the UFC 316 Co-Main Event.
Our second pick for this fight will focus on backing Under 4.5 total rounds. Over the course of Harrison’s MMA career, she has seen 17 of her 19 fights end before the fourth round.
Keep in mind that several of these fights were only scheduled for three rounds, but regardless, 12 of these 19 fights ended before the third round started.
As for Pena, 15 of her 17 career MMA fights have gone below this line. Similar to Harrison, Pena has several fights that were scheduled for just three rounds, but taking those fights out, 11 of her fights have still ended before the fourth round started.
Because both fighters have seen plenty of their fights end before the fourth round, backing Under 4.5 total rounds at -190 will be our second-best bet for the UFC 316 Co-Main Event.
