This is UFC 308, which will be headlined by a UFC Featherweight title fight between Ilia Topuria and Max Holloway.

UFC 308 will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates.

Our first prediction for the UFC 308 Main Event between Topuria and Holloway will focus on Topuria to win the fight.

Topuria enters this fight with an MMA record of 15-0 and he has accumulated a UFC record of 7-0.

He has been an excellent striker so far in the UFC, averaging 4.40 significant strikes per minute with a striking accuracy of 46%. In terms of his defense, Topuria is absorbing 3.35 strikes per minute and has a striking defense of 65%.

He has also proven to be an elite grappler, averaging 1.92 takedowns every 15 minutes and 1.3 submission attempts during the same period. Further, his takedown accuracy is 56% and he has a takedown defense of 92%.

Topuria is understandably the overwhelming favorite seeing that he is the one holding the UFC Featherweight title and the fact that he beat Alexander Volkanovski to win it.

That said, Topuria being perfect in the UFC still makes him a worthwhile bet in this fight.

Holloway has a clear edge when it comes to striking volume, but Topuria has superior grappling.

Of course, Holloway has a solid takedown defense at 84%, but overall, Topuria is a much more balanced fighter and should be able to wear down Holloway over a five-round fight.

For this reason, backing Topuria to remain unbeaten and retain his UFC Featherweight title will be our best bet.

Our second best bet for this Main Event will be for the fight to go the distance.

While both fighters have had their fair share of finishes in their careers, Topuria has never lost by finish, while Holloway has only ever lost by finish once. This loss was by submission and was in 2012, over 12 years ago.

So, while Topuria has seen just two of his seven UFC fights go the distance, Holloway has seen 15 of his 29 UFC fights go the distance, which includes eight of his last 10 UFC fights.

They both have unique fighting styles, however, this fight is more likely to be a five-round brawl instead of a fight that finishes in the early rounds.

For that reason, backing this title fight to go the distance will be the second of our UFC 308 best bets.
