Nickal has had six fights in his career to date, with the first coming against John Noland back on June 4, 2022.
In the iKON FC 3: iKON Fighting Championship bout, Nickal required just 33 seconds to win by KO/TKO.
The American followed that win with a submission victory over Zachary Borrego two months later in Dana White's Contender Series: Season 6, Week 3.
Another submission victory over Donovan Beard followed on September 28, 2022, which required 52 seconds at Dana White's Contender Series: Season 6, Week 10.
Making the step up for UFC 285 on March 4. 2023, Nickal rose to the occasion to beat fellow countryman Jamie Pickett in just under three minutes by submission.
A victory over Val Woodburn last time out saw Nickal’s record move to 5-0-0, 2-0 (T)KO, 3-0 submission.
He extended his record to 6-0, winning by submission in the second round over Cody Brundage at UFC 300.
Nickal started out as a freestyle and folkstyle wrestler and made his varsity high school team after moving from Wyoming to Rio Rancho, New Mexico when in fifth grade.
Moving on again to Allen, Texas as a freshman, Nickal continued his development in wrestling and went on to become a three-time Texas champion. He then wrestled for the storied program at Penn State, where he became a three-time national champion - twice at the 184-pound weight class and once at 197 pounds.
After wrestling for a few more years, it was confirmed in November 2019 that Nickal had signed with First Round Management and his life in MMA began.
Now building his name in the UFC, the Penn State graduate has made a strong start in the middleweight division.
