UFC 310 takes place before the organization's winter break, and the event is set to be capped off by a Flyweight title bout between UFC newcomer Kai Asakura and champion Alexandre Pantoja.

The event will be held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, December 7, and is expected to begin at 6:00 PM ET with the Early Preliminaries, followed by the Preliminaries at 8:00 PM ET and the Main Card at 10:00 PM ET.

Our first prediction for Pantoja vs. Asakura in the main event is for Pantoja to win. Pantoja enters this fight with an MMA record of 28-5 and is 12-3 in the UFC.

He is an excellent striker, averaging 4.41 significant strikes per minute and he has a striking accuracy of 49 percent. As for his defense, Pantoja absorbs 3.97 strikes and has a striking defense of 50 percent.

In terms of grappling, Pantoja has also been elite, averaging 2.61 takedowns every 15 minutes. He has a takedown accuracy of 47 percent and a takedown defense of 68 percent.

Pantoja has been listed as the strong favorite, which is warranted given that he is the one who holds the Flyweight title. More interestingly, his opponent, Kai Asakura, has never once fought in the UFC.

To make an UFC debut and immediately fight for a title is a huge step and one that Asakura might not be ready to make just yet. For that reason, backing Pantoja to successfully defend his title with a win will be our best bet.

Over 2.5 Rounds (-140)

Our second prediction for this Main Event will target this fight to go Over 2.5 rounds. Pantoja and Asakura have plenty of finishes in their careers already, but based on recent results, they have seen the majority of their fights go multiple rounds. 

In fact, Pantoja has seen each of his last three fights go into the third round, while Asakura has seen four of his last five fights do the same.

This being the UFC debut for Asakura makes this play a little risky as we do not know what to fully expect, but with a title on the line, we should get a fight that goes into the Championship rounds. That is why we will be backing this fight to go Over 2.5 rounds as our second best bet.
