The conclusion of the MLB regular season is just over a month away. The Atlanta Braves still look to be the team to beat, if not in the entire league, then certainly in the National League.

They won their fourth game in a row on Saturday afternoon, beating the San Francisco Giants by a score 7-3. 

Offense has been the biggest strength of the Braves pretty much the entire season. As a team, they have the most home runs (241) by a wide margin, a number that increases virtually every time they take the field. 

This has certainly continued during their four-game win streak as the Braves are averaging 5.5 runs per game. 

On top of being the best offense in the league, the Braves also have a top four pitching staff in the league. They have a team ERA of 3.79 and have allowed an average of just 1.5 runs per game during their current win streak.

Baltimore keeping pace with Atlanta

The Baltimore Orioles look to be on a collision course for a World Series matchup with the Atlanta Braves. They are the second best team in the MLB at 81-48. For comparison sake, the Orioles are just 3.5 games behind the Braves for the best record in the league. 

Like Atlanta, Baltimore has also won four games in a row, beating the Colorado Rockies by a score of 5-4 on Saturday night. 

The win against the Rockies has helped them maintain their 3.0 game lead in the American League East division, with only the Tampa Bay Rays challenging them for the division title.

The offense for the Orioles has continued to excel, especially during their four-game winning streak. 

Baltimore is averaging 5.5 runs per game during this stretch. Their pitching staff has been solid as well during the same time period, allowing their opponents to score an average of 2.75 runs per game. 

Despite the recent stretch of games where the pitching has been solid, the Baltimore pitching staff has a team ERA of 4.04, which ranked 13th in the MLB. 

These numbers will likely need to improve if the Orioles are going to keep their divisional lead and make a run in the playoffs.

Arizona continues to shine

Another team who has been making some noise recently is the Arizona Diamondbacks. They did lose on Saturday to the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 8-7, but overall have still won six of their last seven games. 

The loss makes things even tighter in the National League Wild Card and the Diamondbacks are now just 1.5 games ahead of the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants for the final Wild Card position. 

In terms of the National League West division, the Diamondbacks are 12 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers, so the Wild Card looks to be their only way into the playoffs this season. 

Over their last seven games, the Diamondbacks are averaging 6.57 runs per game. On the other side, their pitching staff has allowed 4.14 runs per game. Their pitching has been below average this season as they rank 22nd in team ERA (4.58).
