San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Pick, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

We are only a few weeks into the new MLB season and already we are being treated to a game between two of the top teams in the league on Wednesday night as the San Francisco Giants take on the Philadelphia Phillies.

This National League game between the Giants and Phillies will be the third of four in their current series — the teams split the first two meetings.

The game is scheduled to be played on Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with a first pitch time set for 6:45 PM ET.

Our article will give you a full preview of this game by providing you with our best bet, the current money line, run line, total odds, and the home run odds for the top players from both teams.

San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies betting picks and predictions

San Francisco Giants moneyline (+125)

Our best bet for Wednesday’s game targets the Giants to win.

They enter this game with a record of 12-5, having won game one of this series on Monday, while losing game two on Tuesday. San Francisco is projected to start Robbie Ray in this matchup, who enters the season with a record of 3-0 and an ERA of 2.93.

Across his three starts, the Giants have scored 19 runs of support for Ray. This was against the Cincinnati Reds (6-3 win), Seattle Mariners (4-1 win), and New York Yankees (9-1 win).

As for the Phillies, they enter this game with a record of 10-7.

Philadelphia is expected to counter with Aaron Nola, who comes into this game with a record of 0-3 and an ERA of 5.51.

While Nola has been struggling so far this season, some of this boils down to him receiving virtually no run support.

Through his three starts, the Phillies have scored a total of two runs for him. This was against the Washington Nationals (5-1 loss), Los Angeles Dodgers (3-1 loss), and St. Louis Cardinals (2-0 loss).

It is a little surprising to see the Phillies as the favorite here, but it does make sense, considering they have one of the league’s strongest lineups.

Despite that, Ray has been by far the better pitcher so far this season, and the fact that Nola gets next to nothing in run support makes backing Philadelphia a risky play.

Because of how strong Ray has been to start the season, combined with the Phillies’ offense going cold when Nola is on the mound, our best bet for this game will be for the San Francisco Giants to win at +125.
