The 2024 MLB Draft is officially over and the next set of high school and college stars have begun their journey as a professional baseball player. It’s never too early to look ahead to next year, so let’s do just that as we rank the top 20 players in the 2025 MLB Draft.
The star of the Stanford pitching rotation is going to be a popular name thrown around in the 2025 Draft. His tall frame and high velocity make his potential extremely high.
The Miami transfer just committed to Florida after several extremely successful seasons as a Hurricane. The second baseman is incredibly athletic with above-average pop for his frame and position.
White had a great Sophomore campaign this past season as he hit over .300 for Arizona. He’s got a great arm with excellent speed, so this well-developed shortstop could make an MLB team very happy.
The Texas native is currently committed to TCU, but that might change if his name gets called. The high schooler might be the smoothest shortstop in the country and has plenty of potential to improve.
Xavier Neyens does a little bit of everything. He plays 3rd base in the infield and also has a low 90s fastball on the mound. Plus, he’s got plenty of power from the left side of the plate too.
One of LSU’s most exciting arms didn’t even get to pitch in 2024. Chase Shores is currently recovering from Tommy John surgery, but after posting a 1.96 ERA in seven appearances in 2023, he’s got plenty of eyes on him.
The backstop of Auburn has only gotten better during his college career at Auburn. He finished the 2024 season hitting .319 with 59 RBIs in 47 games and will be a solid addition to any team.
The son of Mark Leiter and cousin of Jack Leiter, Cam Leiter is a highly-regarded prospect for the 2025 Draft. The ace of Florida State’s staff has plenty of potential with his high-velocity pitches.
The former Florida star has transferred to Auburn for the 2025 season. Fisher has great strikeout stuff and pinpoint accuracy, so the tall lefty will make an immediate impact for the Tigers.
The shortstop from North Carolina is committed to the University of Mississippi, but that might not happen. James has been phenomenal in his high school career with A+ bat-to-ball skills and excellent speed.
The star of the Indiana outfield is Devin Taylor, who hit well over .300 in the 2024 season. He also launched 20 home runs, so besides superb defense, he has plenty of pop.
The ace of UC Santa Barbara could be a top 10 pick in the 2025 Draft. Tyler Bremner was 11-1 with a 2.54 ERA in 19 appearances in 2024 and will get more opportunities in the starting rotation in 2025.
This shortstop out of California has excellent hands, good speed, and insane power from the left side. He’s already 6’3”, so Ebel has good size and frame to develop into a strong shortstop.
After hitting .338 his Freshman year, Nolan Schubart hit .370 with 23 homers in 2024. He finished the year with an OPS near 1.4, so Schubart is capable of making an immediate impact at the plate wherever he lands.
A recipient of the Gatorade California Baseball Player of the Year, Seth Hernandez is already throwing mid 90s at just 18 years old. The Vanderbilt commit has gathered plenty of attention ahead of the 2025 Draft and could be one of the first names taken.
One of the most all-around catchers in college baseball is Caden Bodine. The backstop hit .328 with a .933 OPS in 2024 for Coastal Carolina and struck out just 23 times in over 240 at-bats.
The Clemson outfielder has been incredible through two seasons in college baseball. He hit .388 in 2023 and then .337 in 2024 and he also plays excellent defense in center field.
Ethan Petry has developed into a star at the University of South Carolina. He has a .341 career average in college with 44 home runs in two seasons and is in store for an even better 2025 season.
One of the leaders of the Texas A&M team that reached the College World Series was Jace LaViolette, who has 50 home runs and a 1.116 OPS in two college seasons. LaViolette has excellent power and a great eye and is expected to be a top 5 pick.
Yup, there’s another one. The son of MLB All-Star Matt Holliday and brother of MLB #1 prospect Jackson Holliday is expected to be one of the first names taken in 2025. The infielder is already 6’4” with incredible bat skills from the left side.
