Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Picks, Predictions, Odds and Player Props

The MLB week continues with a full 15-game slate on Tuesday, headlined by a showdown between the National League East rivals Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

At 34-19, the Phillies come in with the best record in baseball – good for a two-game lead over the New York Mets in the division and an 8.5-game cushion over the Braves.

Although Atlanta is lagging behind, this game is an intriguing one thanks in part to a pitching matchup that features Spencer Strider of the Braves and Ranger Suarez of the Phillies.

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies betting picks and predictions

Philadelphia Phillies ML (-115)

Once 13-13, the Phillies are now 15 games over .500 exactly one month later. They have simply caught fire and head into this contest with a 9-1 record in their last 10 games.

Suarez taking the mound on Tuesday night is additional good news for Philly, as the southpaw is 3-0 with a 3.70 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 23 strikeouts in 24.1 innings through four starts.

Although Suarez got roughed up a bit by the Braves in 2024, he has generally owned them in both the regular season and the playoffs. Ronald Acuna Jr. is just 4-for-19 lifetime against the 29-year-old, while Michael Harris II is 2-for-20 with zero extra-base hits.

Strider has pitched sparingly in 2025. The right-hander is coming off Tommy John surgery early in 2024 and made just one appearance in mid-April before being sidelined by a hamstring injury.

Through just two starts, Strider is saddled with a 5.79 ERA – having allowed six earned runs on 11 hits and two walks in 9.1 innings of work.

Moreover, Philadelphia is outstanding at home and Atlanta is terrible on the road. The Phillies come in with a 17-8 mark at Citizens Bank Park, while the Braves are 9-18 away from home.

As a very small underdog, the best team in the NL East – and in all of baseball – has good value to take care of business in front of its own fans.

Under 8.5 Total Runs (-115)

With two starts under his belt and what appears to be a clean bill of health, Strider should begin to pick up the pace.

The Clemson product is also extremely well rested. He has made only two starts this year and he will have enjoyed six full days of rest when he toes the rubber against Philadelphia. His most recent appearance last Tuesday at Washington saw him throw only 75 pitches.

Strider will likely need to be lights out if his team wants to have a chance, because Suarez can be expected to stymie the Braves.

They have lost four of their last five outings and in three of those four setbacks they scored three, one and three runs.

Harris is batting .222 for the season and .222 over the last seven days, while Matt Olson is hitting .238 overall and .227 in the last week.

All things considered, this could be a relatively low-scoring affair.

Brandon Marsh Over 0.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-170)

Asking Marsh to simply get one hit, run, or RBI on Tuesday should not be too much – and even -170 is a great price.

The 27-year-old centerfielder has been extremely successful against Strider throughout his career, going 6-for-17 (.353) with two home runs and a double.

Marsh has by no means been on fire this season, but he should take some confidence heading into this matchup following a 2-for-3 effort against the Athletics this past Sunday.

The Buford, Georgia native has scored a run in each of the last two games. It certainly doesn’t hurt when Bryson Stott, Trea Turner and Bryce Harper bat right after you in the lineup.
