Michael Kim Delivers Unforgettable 59 at 3M Open

Michael Kim sunk a 24-foot putt on the 18th green Friday to shoot 59 in the second round at the 2026 3M Open.

After starting his round with a pair of pars, it did not take long for Kim to find momentum. His round featured 12 birdies without a single bogey.

The 59 marked a career milestone for Kim, showcasing his precise iron play, exceptional putting, and impressive approach shots throughout the round.

It was the first time in the 2026 PGA Tour season where a player shot sub-60 in a round. The last person to achieve this was Jake Knapp at the 2025 Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches.

Kim Moves Into Weekend Contention

Following his historic round, Kim positioned himself at the top of the leaderbaord, currently 14-under through 36 holes.

After missing the cut at his last three PGA Tour starts, this is a huge opportunity for Kim as he heads into the weekend rounds at TPC Twin Cities.
