Defending Gold Cup champions Mexico will face off against Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals.
El Tri, who won the 2023 Gold Cup, are three wins away from back-to-back continental titles after topping Group A. But it wasn’t easy going, as the Mexicans narrowly skated past the Dominican Republic, were challenged by Suriname, and were held to a goalless draw against Costa Rica.
Saudi Arabia used its group-opening 1-0 win over Haiti to secure its spot in the knockout stage, before losing 1-0 to the USA and drawing with Trinidad and Tobago.
These two sides met in the group stage at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, when Mexico defeated Saudi Arabia 2-1, although both sides were eliminated from the competition thereafter.
Mexico vs. Saudi Arabia will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1.
A Spanish-language broadcast will be available on Univision.
Mexico vs. Saudi Arabia will kick off at 10:15 PM ET / 7:15 PM PT on Saturday, June 28 from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
