Men’s Olympic Basketball Tournament MVP Odds: LeBron, Steph favored

Eight Team USA players lead the MVP market heading into the 2024 Olympics Men's Basketball Tournament.

There are a few contenders with strong NBA pedigrees near the top of the list who will represent other nations this summer.

Kevin Durant won the MVP Award in the last Olympics. Can he repeat the accomplishment, or will he be joined on the all-time winners list by someone else?

LeBron James, thanks to his unmatched resume and his recent heroics in Team USA pre-Olympics tune-up games, leads the men's basketball MVP odds heading into the Olympics.

James scored 20 points - including 11 in the fourth quarter - on 8/11 shooting with six rebounds and four assists in Team USA's exhibition win over reigning FIBA World Cup winners Germany in a game that took place one week before the Olympics began.

He is followed by Stephen Curry, arguably the best shooter in basketball history, who is making his Olympic debut this summer.

Third in the market is Team USA center Anthony Davis, who had six blocks against Nikola Jokic's Serbia in the lead up to the Games. He may serve as Team USA's defensive anchor in Paris.

Anthony Edwards is tied with Davis in the odds, and he'll look to further boost his resume after growing into a superstar this past NBA season.

Davis and Edwards are followed by USA teammates Kevin Durant, the reigning Olympic Men's Basketball Tournament MVP, who has been dealing with a calf injury in the weeks before the Games.

Further back in the odds are Joel Embiid, Devin Booker and Jayson Tatum. The non-Team USA player with the shortest odds for MVP is Canada point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who was an NBA MVP finalist in the 2023/24 season.

Victor Wembanyama, the 7-foot-4 reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, is 10th in the odds and second among non-Team USA players.
