The 2024/25 Premier League season kicks off on Friday when Manchester United host Fulham.
United will hope to improve upon last season's eight-placed finish, and their season ended on a high note when the team won the FA Cup over city rivals Manchester City.
So far this summer, United has boosted its defense with the summer signings of Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Nouassir Mazraoui, but Yoro is out for a few months with a foot injury. The team also brought in versatile, technically-sound forward Joshua Zirkzee.
Fulham lost a key player in defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha, but the signings of attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe and center back Jorge Cuenca will help the team now and in the future as it looks to build upon last season's 13th-placed finish.

Lenny Yoro will miss this match with a foot injury and Rasmus Hojlund will miss this match with a hamstring injury. Left backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are also injured. The game might come too soon for new signings Matthijs de Ligt and Nouassir Mazraoui, who both signed from Bayern Munich this week.
Fulham has not seen any injuries to first team players in the preseason. New signings Emile Smith Rowe and Jorge Cuenca could make their competitive Fulham debuts, and Ryan Sessegnon, who played for Fulham from 2016 to 2018, could make his first competitive appearance since returning to the club this summer.
