The two teams that lead their conferences at the end of the season will go straight into Round One of both the playoffs and the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Teams finishing second to sixth go straight into Round One, while eight and nine go into a Wild Card round, where they face off in a one-off tie.

The regular season also will pause between July 26 to August 25 for the fourth edition of the Leagues Cup, the knockout tournament which also features sides from Liga MX. However, MLS will not break for the summer's Copa America, hosted by the USA.
