The Detroit Lions are looking to bounce back after losing in last season's NFC Championship game, and they open the season at home against their former QB Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams.
LA and Detroit swapped QBs in 2021, sending Stafford from Michigan to California and current Jared Goff the other way.
With hindsight, it seems the trade benefitted both players and teams. The Rams won the NFL Championship in their first season with Stafford under center, and in 2023, Goff led the Lions to their first playoff win since 1991.
In addition to the QBs who each have history with both franchises, this game is a rematch of a Wild Card round clash in last season's playoffs where the Lions won 24-23.
Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions will be broadcast on NBC, which can be viewed though linear or cable TV and with live TV streaming apps such as YouTubeTV or FuboTV.
Streaming is also available through NFL+, which requires a subscription.
