LIV Golf Virginia Outright Winner & Best Bets

The 2026 LIV Golf Tour arrives in the US for the first time this year as Trump National outside Washington DC hosts the seventh event on the schedule.

Jon Rahm, already a two-time winner this season, is a clear favourite ahead of another man with two wins to his name in 2026, Bryson DeChambeau, though the American was last seen withdrawing from last month's event in Mexico City with a wrist injury.

Phil Mickelson is one man who definitely won't be teeing it up at the 7,679-yard, par 72 layout at Potomac Falls, the six-time major winner citing personal reasons for his continued absence.

Joaquin Niemann took the honours last year with four birdies in his last five holes to win by one shot around a course where water hazards are abundant, especially on the back nine.

LIV Golf Virginia betting picks and predictions

Jon Rahm to win (+275)

You can try your hardest to come up with arguments against Jon Rahm dotting up at Trump National - but it's easier to make a case for Rahmbo.

Odds of +275 might look tight in a reasonably competitive field but you know you are going to get a run from the Spaniard, who has never finished outside of the top 11 in 31 starts on this breakaway tour.

The -150 he finishes in the top five looks like buying money, especially given a whiff of doubt over the health of biggest rival Bryson DeChambeau, who seemed to hurt his wrist in Mexico City, certainly enough of a problem to force him to withdraw.

Rahm has won twice on his last four LIV starts and extending the format to 72 holes from 54 just makes him even stronger, giving him more time to turn the screw on inferior opponents.

Rahm's form figures on the LIV Tour this season read 2-2-1-5-2-1. As we say, a top-five finish is nailed on given he signed off 2025 with four straight top-fives, and the +275 he goes in again, just as he did in Mexico City last time, is not the worst value.

Joaquin Niemann win & each-way (+1400)

One of Rahm's rare flops last year was his T8 at LIV Virginia - (sure, the word 'flop' is pretty relative) - where Joaquin Niemann took the laurels.

That was his fourth win of five in a sublime 2025, dizzy heights he has understandably failed to replicate this season.

But there is plenty of evidence the seven-time LIV winner can replicate last summer's heroics, when he birdied four of his last five holes to win this event by one stroke.

That was an impressive assault on a bunch of holes with water everywhere so a return to Trump National should lift the Chilean's spirits.

His start to this season was pretty ordinary with a missed cut at the Dubai Desert Classic preceding poor LIV efforts in Riyadh and Hong Kong.

But he has bounced back with a fourth place in Singapore followed by a T12 in South Africa and finished T20 in Mexico City thanks to a last-day, bogey-free 67.

His form is encouraging to suggest he can make the top five where he can be backed each-way at +1400.

Matt Wolff - Top American (+750)

Matt Wolff gets a chance for redemption at Trump National, 12 months after he pulled out of his first round after eight holes because of an injury.

Having just registered a classy sixth place at LIV Korea, Wolff was devastated to sustain an injury which ruled him out of two more events and effectively wrecked his year.

But the 27-year-old Californian and PGA Tour winner is enjoying a much-improved campaign, with top fives recorded in Hong Kong and last time out in Mexico City plus a T8 in Singapore.

Wolff was right in the mix in Mexico City after starting off 68-65 before he trod water over the weekend.

But clearly the consistency is there and he looks a value play at +750 in the Top American market where Bryson DeChambeau is the only elite player, and he's got plenty on his mind right now. Maybe Wolff can take advantage.
