LEC 2022 Summer Split action continues and the race for the final playoff spots is on as Astralis and Fnatic find themselves sitting just outside the top-six spots.
Outside of Team BDS, the other nine teams remain in contention and Astralis and Fnatic currently find themselves on the wrong side of the cut-off line..
A three-way tie between Excel, G2 Esports and Misfits Gaming for the final three playoff spots could easily get flipped on its side and, with only one more week remaining after this weekend, things are about to get intense.
What | Misfits Gaming v Astralis, LEC Summer 2022 |
Where | Germany |
When | 12:00pm ET, Friday 5th August 2022 |
How to watch | LEC YouTube & Twitch Channels |
Odds | Misfits -188, Astralis +137 |
Astralis can see a possible playoff berth right in front of them, the only issue is Misfits Gaming stand in their way.
A loss for Astralis all but ends their hopes. A defeat for Misfits doesn't completely end the team's hopes, but it won't help them stay in a current three-way tie.
This may be one of the most important matches on the schedule and both teams will sense that their hopes for this event are on the line in this match-up.
Astralis were able to earn a win against second-placed Rogue last week and that should give them a little confidence heading into this week's matches. Misfits Gaming were also able to pick up wins in Week 6, including a win over Rogue themselves.
Misfits' Vetheo has been a player to watch throughout the team's success, as he has taken home Player of the Game honors four times this season.
Astralis has only had one player anywhere near that mark, as Vizicsacsi earned the same honour twice.
Misfits must be ready for a tough fight from Astralis, but their line-up should give them the advantage they need to get the victory they need.
What | Rogue v MAD Lions, LEC Summer 2022 |
Where | Germany |
When | 15:00pm ET, Friday 5th August 2022 |
How to watch | LEC YouTube & Twitch Channels |
Odds | Rogue +100, MAD Lions -138 |
The top two teams in LEC Summer Split meet for the ultimate bragging rights - Rogue find themselves two wins behind MAD Lions for the top seed come the playoffs, but they could really make some noise with a win.
MAD Lions have looked near unstoppable as they have won six straight matches, their last defeat coming during Week 3 when they fell short against Misfits Gaming.
The first clash between MAD Lions and Rogue was unforgettable as Rogue won that head-to-head meeting.
MAD Lions are out for a little vengeance, but the real question will be if they are able to keep their recent momentum rolling?
UNFORGIVEN has been a stud for MAD Lions and he currently averages the most kills out of anyone in this event. Rogue's Comp isn't too far behind as they have both posted their claim as the two most effective players in LEC Summer 2022.
That will be the key match-up to focus on and this match will be a must-see. MAD Lions have been blazing, but the slight edge goes to Rogue given their recent success against the Spanish organization.
What | G2 Esports v Excel, LEC Summer 2022 |
Where | Germany |
When | 16:00pm ET, Friday 5th August 2022 |
How to watch | LEC YouTube & Twitch Channels |
Odds | G2 -163, Excel +120 |
Excel and G2 Esports get another shot at one another as the teams who sit tied for fourth at 7-6 face-off with major playoff implications on the line.
G2 were able to win the first match between these teams all the way back during Week 1 in June.
Excel has made several improvements since then and now they find G2 standing in their way from holding the fourth seed for the playoffs and they cannot fall to 0-2 against their opponents with only three more match days left in the regular season.
Both oufits still have several teams chomping at the bit to try and sneak past them for one of those last three playoff bids.
G2 finished 1-1 during Week 6 action including a very impactful loss against Team Vitality. Excel lost both of their matches against Vitality and then were run off the map by first-placed MAD Lions.
G2 clearly has an edge against Excel and caPs should be the real difference maker in his side getting their eighth win.
