German CS:GO team BIG have announced the promotion of Karim "Krimbo" Moussa from their academy team after a strong trial run at the PGL Major Antwerp Europe RMR Open Qualifiers.
The 19-year-old replaced Nils "k1to" Gruhne at that open qualifier and posted an impressive 1.19 rating, helping BIG to finish 1st and gain strong seeding for the PGL Major Antwerp Europe RMR.
Krimbo takes over from k1to
Given his strong performance, it can be of little surprise that BIG have chosen to promote Krimbo, especially in lieu of k1to's recent struggles - posting just a 0.97 rating in the last three months of competition.
Krimbo said: "I was very excited when I heard the team wanted to play the Major qualifiers with me. I have big shoes to fill, but I am confident especially after successfully qualifying for the EU RMR."

In a press release, BIG's Head of CS:GO Roman Reinhardt said: "I am delighted to announce that Karim "Krimbo" Moussa is the first player to be trialed by the main CS:GO team from our BIG OMEN Academy project.
"Karim has shown his capacities in multiple iterations of the academy line-up, and has proved that he deserves the chance.
"The change means that Nils "k1to" Gruhne will move to the BIG OMEN Academy team for now and will support the further development of our talents there."
BIG handed decent draw
BIG's new line-up will be showcased in Group C of ESL Pro League Season 15, which kicks off on Wednesday.
The Germans are strongly fancied to qualify for the play-offs, having been placed in one of the weaker groups alongside the likes of Liquid, Movistar Riders, GODSENT and Party Astronauts.
