Kirk Cousins’ future is up in the air, with the veteran QB set to enter free agency on March 13.
Cousins, 35, tore his Achilles in 2023 Week 8 and has not played since. Prior to the injury, he was a dark horse to win the league MVP award, a year removed from leading the Vikings to a 13-4 record and NFC North division title.

Only this week have the Falcons emerged as the favorite to land Cousins.
The shift in odds came after Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported Cousins is “seriously considering moving his family to Atlanta.”
The rumors make sense, as the Falcons are very much in the market for a new starting quarterback, and likely have their eyes on Cousins, who is the pick of the bunch among free agent quarterbacks this offseason.
The favorite to retain Cousins prior to PFT’s report, Minnesota has enjoyed six-straight seasons with Cousins as their starting QB, most recently winning a second NFC North title in 2023.
Vikings leadership, notably GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O’Connell, have both publicly stated their desire to retain Cousins.
Whether or not Cousins stays in Minnesota will likely have a direct impact on whether or not the Vikings can re-sign all-world wide receiver Justin Jefferson, who blossomed into arguably the NFL’s top wide-out with Cousins throwing him the ball.
Another team in quarterback limbo, Mark Davis and company must figure out who the starting quarterback will be in 2024.
The Jimmy Garoppolo era is over and Aidan O’Connell didn’t exactly dazzle in his 10 starts, despite leading the team to a 5-5 record as a rookie.
Cousins and Las Vegas don’t exactly seem like a perfect match, but you can’t rule anything out when Mark Davis is calling the shots.
