Undefeated lightweight Keyshawn Davis steps up against Gustavo Lemos in his hometown of Norfolk, Virginia on Friday night.

Lightweight hot-shot Davis (-600) has barely put a toe out of place as a professional since claiming silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, but faces his stiffest challenge yet against Argentinian banger Lemos (+400).
Despite losing his last bout against American Richardson Hitchins, many felt Lemos did enough to deserve the victory on the scorecards and has landed himself another shot at a big US name in Davis.
However, Lemos raised eyebrows at the weigh-in by blowing the contracted weight limit (135 lbs) by over six pounds, throwing the bout into momentary jeopardy. After negotiations between the camps ensured the fight would still go ahead, Lemos being so drastically overweight throws up many questions.
Could he be injured? Is he fried at the weight? Time will tell. Before the weigh-in, I was pretty secure in my pick of Davis to Win By Decision/Technical Decision at -175, but the apparent condition of Lemos has me tempted to bet the stoppage. After a fast start against Hitchins, Lemos was unable to rubber-stamp the victory as he tired late-on, and I could see the same happening against the slick, accurate Davis on Friday night.
I think I’ll be sticking to my guns and playing Davis by decision, but I may also look at a small play on Davis to Win By KO/TKO in Rounds 9-10 at +1200.
