Alex Johnston became South Sydney’s all-time leading try scorer on Saturday night as he helped the Rabbitohs come from behind to beat the Wests Tigers.
South Sydney moved into the top eight of the NRL ladder with the 44-18 win and will be aiming to stay there and play finals at the end of the season.
Souths were trailing the Tigers 12-0 at one point but came roaring back in the second half to take the win with Johnston grabbing a hat-trick of tries. It took him to 147 tries for the club. One more than former teammate Nathan Merritt.
And to make it even more special, Johnston broke the record in the Indigenous round.

"I'm still pinching myself," Johnston told reporters way after the game had finished. "I don't want to play in any other colours. To score 147 in the red and green. I am just speechless at the moment.
"What a night to do it, I don't think I will take this Indigenous jersey off for a week."
Johnston almost left the club two years ago when there was no contract offer on the table. However the powers that be had a change of heart which may have been brought on by the supporters protesting the decision.
"I was almost not here. There was a petition going around and a lot of fans signed," Johnston added. "I'd like to think the top dogs saw it and thought we need to keep this guy. I think I have plenty more tries to go, touch wood, to pay (the fans) back."
