The Los Angeles Chargers released five-time Pro Bowl defensive end Joey Bosa on Thursday, March 6th.
Bosa, the third-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, is entering his age-30 season and has missed 23 games in the last three campaigns.
But, he averages just under 11.5 sacks per 17 games and can still get to the quarterback. Teams looking for an experienced presence who can fill a rotational spot in their pass rush corps will certainly be interested in the Ohio State product.

CHI Bears | +900 |

The San Francisco 49ers, who already employ Bosa's younger brother Nick, are the favorites (+220) to sign Joey Bosa.
The younger Bosa and last season's backup DE, Yetur Gross-Matos, will likely form the starting duo on the ends, but the elder Bosa would enjoy playing on the same line as his brother while filling a rotational role.
The LA Chargers are the second-favorites (+400) to sign Bosa. The sides would have to agree on a deal worth substantially less than the $15 million per year the veteran was guaranteed on the contract the Chargers just released him from, but the team will be motivated to hold onto a fan favorite.
The Detroit Lions, whose defense was ravaged by injuries in 2024, are third in the betting (+800) to land Bosa. Bosa would fit in behind Aidan Hutchinson and Za'Darius Smith on the depth chart. Hutchinson is returning from a broken leg, so getting a quality backup is important.
The Chicago Bears and New England Patriots are tied for the fourth-shortest odds (+900). The teams are constructed similarly in that both are trying to add more talent around young QBs entering their second year.
Montez Sweat is Chicago's one quality pass rusher and he ended the season with a team-high 5.5 sacks in 16 games, so the front office will likely prioritize strengthening that position group.
The Pats had similar pass-rushing struggles, as their joint-leaders in sacks — Keion White and Deatrich Wise Jr. — ended the year with just 5.0 sacks each.
Tied in the odds at +1000 each are the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals. Cincy recently granted star defensive end Trey Hendrickson permission to seek a trade, while Arizona is another team that didn't see any of its players have more than 5.0 sacks in 2024.
Next in the market are the recently-crowned champion Philadelphia Eagles (+1200), Washington Commanders (+1200), Las Vegas Raiders (+1500) and Carolina Panthers (+1800).
Slightly further back in the betting are the Atlanta Falcons (+2000), Buffalo Bills (+2000), Green Bay Packers (+2200), Los Angeles Rams (+2200) and Dallas Cowboys (+2500).
